FP+ The positives

I realize the sky is falling in regards to the new FP+ rollout and the complaints I'm sure are valid in many instances. And I am not a fan of having to have all FP+ in one park.

With that said, I'm pretty excited to see how it works. We just did our FP's for our trip Easter week.

For me one of the positives is the relative close time frames I was able to secure.

For example. I have FP's for Toy Story 5:00 to 6:00, Star Tours 6:35-7:35 and Tower of Terror 8:10-9:10, If I choose to I could plan on arriving around 5 and be able to leave a little after 8. There is no way in the old system I could spend the day at the hotel or other parks and slide over to the Studios late in the day and get those 3, pretty much back to back. I realize Star Tours later in the day can be had with little wait. I'm just excited that I don't have to get there first thing in the morning to secure Toy Story and run from attraction to attraction to get the FP.

On most of our days I planned compact times in the AM, or afternoon, or evening, to give us the flexibility for the rest of the day. I have had to many visits where we have gotten FP's and the time might be 5 hours later (Soaring, Rock N Roll etc). I realize everyone has different ways they enjoy the parks but I will see how it works for us.

As a planner, rope dropper and traveler during non peak times, I love FP+.

It allowed me to visit a recommended park in the morning and by lunch when we started to get tired of the same park, we could hop to a busier park for MSEP & Wishes or F! where we had three FP+ waiting for us.

It was a huge help on attractions in the busier parks without having to be there for Rope Drop and throughout the day.

Final test for me will be in a couple of days, but so far it's OK. The website kept crashing and it took far too long to book the silly things (and then adjust them since the times they gave made no sense) but I am pretty happy that we can go in, not make rope drop, and still hit our major items. (esp. since I was able to take advantage of the tiering glitch and book Test Track and Soarin' on the same day).

Final judgment reserved until next week!!!!

We actually love the magicbands and FP+. I can see how the 3 per day per park limit absolutely would not work for others, but for our touring style it works. It's fun for the kids to scan their bands at rides, and I like that everyone has their own bands on their body instead of having to collect and distribute kttw cards every time we go into a park. We've done two trips with FP+ and it's worked fine for us. :)

It worked great for my wife and I. Never in the past could we sleep till 10 take a leisurely shower mosey to Hollywood and still see toy story.

Love it!

Agree with this post. Not a fan since I'm a rope dropper and go back to hotel by 2, but did enjoy the few times we did what LSUFan did.
Did not like using sequential fast passes at MK where we had to cross the whole park 3 times though.

Loved the magic bands.

Liked the ability to schedule the very popular FP ahead of time. Liked the ability to pick our own times.

Did not like much else about it, but that's for another thread.

FP+ did not work for my family-the limit of 3 FP per day is limiting. As is the tiering aspect-we could not get FP for both RnR & TSM or for Soarin & TT. Ridiculous. If there was a glitch that enabled you to book 2 headliners, then yay for you-enjoy it while you can because it didn't happen for us. They've taken away features not added. But for late comers, I can see the advantage. For the rest of us rope droppers it's a big setback to our usual touring style.
