FP+ Strategy when my child "MIGHT" not be tall enough...

My son turns 4 in July. He's short for his age - just over 38" but we all know that kids can have major (as much as 2 inches, easily) growth spurts in short amounts of time. Now, our trip is in September. If my kid is 39" when my FP+ window opens, should I go ahead and FP for BTMRR and Splash Mountain in the "hopes" that he will be tall enough to ride them this year, or should I stick to what he is definitely tall enough for (PP, TS, Little Mermaid, etc) and try to change my FP if he grows enough in the meantime?

This sounds like a GRE or ACT logic question.

I would get the harder to get FP+ first, it will be easier to downgrade than to upgrade closer you get to the trip. Maybe he'll grow enough, maybe he won't.

Are you going to do rope drop?

I would definitely fp+ pp because the waits get crazy right off the bat. We just had the same situation with our dd and we did a mix. Like one fp+ where we thought she might be tall enough for a headliner (it is was test track) and then 2 we knew she could ride.
