A little info just in case it matters- our six night/ stay goes like this (we have hoppers, park indicated is where we will start the day and have lunch):

Day 1- travel/resort/DS
Day 2- HS
Day 3- MK
Day 4- Epcot
Day 5- AK
Day 6- MK
Day 7- resort brunch/travel

Here is my question - We are a party of four. When my FP window opens, do I want to try for FOP for day 5 and then move on to 7DMT for day 3 without taking the time to schedule the other 2 AK FP (go back to day 5 FP scheduling later)?

Yes - that’s the best strategy.

Book Tier 1s and then go back and fill in days. :)

From the Strategies post in the FP FAQ:
- One recommended booking strategy is to schedule the hardest-to-get FPs on each day (Avatar Flight Of Passage, Frozen Ever After, Seven Dwarves Mine Train, etc.) before anything else. For example, schedule only FOP on Day 7, only FEA on Day 6, then return to those days later to fill in your schedule with the easier-to-get FPs.

Somehow I missed that when I was perusing the FP FAQs page. I will have to go back and see what else I missed
