FP return time

How does the FP return time work? Do you have to be there at the exact time it says or is it a time frame?

Does anyone know first hand when the first return time is for Kilamanjaro Safari? Do you think this would work... running for a FP for KS, going to do a few other things, returning to KS and then making our Donalds ADR at 10:25?

You can't get in the FP Return line EARLY (not even by a minute)
but you CAN use that FP at any time during or
after the Return Window for the rest of that same day.

Not that it matters too much (as I said, you could always ride AFTER your breakfast)
but, if you got a FP at, say, 9:05am, the Return time would likely be at approx. 9:40am.

You'd be out of that ride by 10:20am or so.

Thanks! I didn't realize the FP was good for any time after the return time, I was thinking it might be good for an hour or so... good to know!

With stuff like Kilamanjaro Safari and Indiana Jones, I'd go when the FP indicates because there is a limited number each day, and in the case of Indiana Jones, a limited number of seats for the show. The earlier the better, IMO, for KS, so for the OP, I'd try to be on the first safari of the day and you might not even need to FP that.

That said, some rides are so crowded that if you're not "within the window" your FP might not be honored, like someone posted about Jungle Ride. I've heard people with FP's being denied at Soarin', too. But usually in most cases you can use a FP after the return window. One time, I had a FP for Toy Story Mania and when I got to the attraction at my FP time, the ride was closed for technical difficulties. Since I had a ressie at Sci-Fi, I could only wait around so long for it to get fixed, so ended up going to Sci-Fi and coming back to TSM after that, which was then later than my FP "return time," but they still let us get on.

There must have been something else going on (like the FP's were fake or from a different day) or the CM was uninformed.

I've heard people with FP's being denied at Soarin', too.

There has not been a report about late FP refusal on Soarin' for well over a year, now.

There have been no credible reports of late FP refusal on even TSM, the most popular attraction at WDW.

(I used TSM FP's 5 hours late about a month ago.)


The Jungle Cruise... ???

Was Fastpass even still in use at the time? They don't always use it on the Jungle Cruise, and may have closed it for the day if the standby time was consistently short.

Attraction managers DO have the option to deny late Fastpasses. The bulk of CMs do not.

I HAVE seen reports lately of some refusals at Soarin' and TSM, but they are rare - far more rare than they used to be at Soarin'.

We were just at Disney last week and had no problems using our fastpasses after the return time.

We were there last week and used our FP late for Jungle Cruise...and it was a 60 min stand-by wait.

We used late FP's in all parks with no problems (including Soarin)

there's no guarantee. one time the guy at buzz lightyear let me on in exchange for 16 fast passes from jungle cruise. A cm might let you on or not.

I'm stunned by these reports... every CM should know that Guests are allowed to use a Fastpass anytime after the return time. In fact, this actually makes me a little mad.

If it were to happen to me I would say, "would you please refer to your operating guide, if you'd like I can point out where it says that I can enter this attraction after the return time. I know... because I WROTE IT!!!!"

I try to keep it quite that I'm a CM while I'm in the park as a guest, but that one would make me break my silence.

I guess it depends on the CM, last year a group of girls gave us their FP for BTMRR and a group of people ahead of us were trying to get on the the CM said no those tickets expired an hour ago...I thought that was a little crazy, I think he finally let the group on but they had some words.
