FP+ reservations when deciding between AP or MYW

I apologize if this has been answered, I did a search and couldn’t find my scenario.

I have an upcoming Dec. trip and the 60-day FP+ booking window is approaching. I am currently deciding if it is most economical on this trip to A) renew my AP which just expired, B) lapse with the AP and buy a new one on arrival, or, C) purchase some type of daily ticket for the trip.

I know I need to have a ticket linked to my account to make the FP+ reservations, but to buy me some time, could I just add an unused one day ticket that I have to my MDE account in order to make FP+ reservations? Will that only let me make one day of reservations? If I don’t do that, I assume that I need either the AP renewal certificate or a new AP certificate number on the reservation to be able to do anything, correct?

I’m holding off just in case any DVC ticket discounts are announced before the end of the year.

Thank you all for your help!!

you can add a FP for each day of tickets you have so one day ticket=1 day of FP
no tickets=no fast passes.
