FP Question

Here's my question:

When an attraction opens later than the whole park (e.g., Jungle Cruise), can you get a FP for that attraction before it opens. For example, if JC opens at 10:00 and I am walking by there at 9:30, would I be able to get a FP? If so, would the return window start at 10:00, or would it build in a delay like most attractions do when the park opens?

i could be wrong here, but, I don't think the FP machines open until the attraction itself is open....on the time issue; Im again fairly sure that the times start almost immediately....i.e: attraction opens at 10am, those first FP's will probably say something like: return between 10:05 and 11:05am....Im not 100% percent certain on any of this though....

I was at WDW in July and if a ride was not open, FP was not available. The FP machines have covers over them so you know they aren't open.

I thought I read in one of the guide books that there is always a delay in the initial fastpasses. So if you get a FP for Buzz at 9:00, the return window will be 9:30 to 10:30.

I know that the FP machines open when the ride opens and not before.

As for return time, you will know when you get the FP because it is clearly posted (so you know before you get it). It really wouldn't matter what the "first" return time was. If you are going to wait around before the ride opens you might as well get into the stand by line. If you want to use FP you will not really have any way to know how fast the return time will go so unless you plan to queue up and wait for the FP machine to open what differance will it make? There is no way to guess what the FP return time will be 30 min after the ride opens.
