FP+ Question

We just booked a room only reservation through an outside party (Orbitz) and have APs. Because this is a last minute trip, we're already within the 60 day window. But, it takes 24-48 hours for the Orbitz reservation to be able linked to MDE. If I book a "throw away" room now, i.e. book then cancel once the Orbitz reservatoin is able to be linked, will all of my FP+ selections stay?

I just don't want to wait another 2 days to pick FP+ seeing as we're already in the window. Help!

I don't know but am interested in the answer.

I have a slightly different scenario in not knowing which date my two week vacation will start due to dh's work issues. I have two separate reservations booked: Nov 14-24, and Nov 21-Dec 4. We will not know for sure until about six weeks out. If I book FP's on the 14-24 dates and then end up having to cancel and go with the 21-4 dates will I lose any of my FP selections for the overlapping dates of the 21st through the 24th?

Your FP are not connected to a specific stay. They aren't connected to a stay at all. The ability to book them is only "turned on" by a stay. The FP are connected to tickets/AP, technically.
So, nothing happens to FP if you replace 1 reservation with another.

Thank you! I was thinking as long as our "real" reservation was linked prior to cancelling the throw away we'd be fine. Good to know!

Just as a follow up, we just linked our real reservation and dropped our throw away and as was previously mentioned, the FP+s didn't disappear.
