DH and I will be going to WDW for 1 day as an excursion from our Carnival cruise in October on a Wednesday. We are going to go to MK and he wants to ride 7DMR. I have our bands from our last resort stay but we will not be getting our tickets until that morning when the bus picks us up from Port Canaveral. I heard that there are actual kiosks in the park that we could use to get FP's. Has anyone arrived in the morning and used these kiosks? Are most the FP's gone or do they keep some aside for this purpose? Its not the end of the world if he doesn't ride it since we are planning to come back for an 8 night stay in 2017, but this is a birthday celebration and I was hoping to ride it. I know I can stand in line but with the time constraints of the excursion, I don't plan on standing in lines for a long period of time (I am just happy to be at Disney, because 1 day is better than no days).

At MK, you will be able to get most any FP+ you want at the kiosk on the day of. There are only 2 that will be hard to get and that will be 7DMT and A&E. We were just there last week and in the morning everything had openings except for those 2. If you are able to arrive at RD and head right to the mine train, you can ride with very little wait. Or, if you are in the park at closing time, we have had great luck getting in line about 30 minutes before closing. The posted wait time was 45 minutes but we were off in less than 25 and even had time to jump back in line right before the park closed. The last time it took about 15 minutes to get on the ride but the posted time still said 30 minutes.

Thanks mom2mickeyfan. I figured it was still going to be a hard one to get. I think we will head there right when we arrive.

1. I have our bands from our last resort stay but

2. we will not be getting our tickets until that morning when the bus picks us up from Port Canaveral.

3. I heard that there are actual kiosks in the park that we could use to get FP's. Has anyone arrived in the morning and used these kiosks? Are most the FP's gone or

4. do they keep some aside for this purpose?

1. You don't need MagicBands to make or use FP+ (but you CAN, of course.)
FP+ can be accessed using just a regular park ticket.
2. You could decide to buy your tickets now (or any time between now and sometime in September.)
That way, you can book FP+ up to 30 days in advance.
3. Yes.
4. Nope.
