FP plan for AK

2 adults, looking to plan our FP selection for AK at the end of January/early February. We will be spending 2 days in AK on an upcoming trip. We are going to try for FOP for both days (60+4 and 60+8). It’s DHs first trip and my 2nd, but it’s been years.

I’d like to ride the safari both days (once in the morning and once at sunset), Everest both days, and see ROL once. I’m not interested in a dining package (out of the budget).

What’s the best way to do ROL? It’s only playing once each night. Is standby an option? Likelihood for 4th FP? Should I just schedule a FP and suck up the missed FP?

How long is the wait for the safari at sunset? I know it’s longer in the morning, but what about late afternoon? Is EE or the safari likely to have a longer standby?

I would FP+ FOP, safari (both days), ROL one day and EE one day. You can always use the single rider line for EE. In fact, if you don’t mind doing single rider both days, use the EE FP+ on something else.

Is there anything else we should fastpass there? If we see a show we don’t care about seat quality. We’ll want to ride dinosaur. Is that necessary to have FP?

I don't think Dinosaur needs a FP. I don't think I would get a FP for EE either. We are going March 3 and I'm not planning on getting a FP for EE. Our plan will be to go straight there at RD and ride a couple time while everyone else is headed to Pandora.

When we were there the first week of October, I had Fastpasses for FOP, EE, and KS. We rope dropped NRJ. It would have been nice to have had a FP for NRJ. It was NECESSARY to have a FP for FOP. We could have done fine without the FP for EE or KS. We used them, but the waits were quite reasonable standby.
