I had first part of upcoming reservation booked using 11 month window. Didn't have enough points to book the last day I wanted.

At 7 month window used my other (main) contract and waitlisted. It came thru this weekend:goodvibesvia a different reservation number.

I called MS yesterday & asked that they link the reservations. Inquired if they could add the waitlisted day to the original reservation number. The CM said absolutely, put me on hold and within a few minutes said it was done. She also indicated I didn't really need to call for this, as the system would automatically have kept us in the same room. I indicated that I also wanted to have the same FP+ initial date, and she said I was good to go.

When I checked my MDE & DVC today I still see both reservations still listed separately by number. Now I'm wondering if the CM linked the reservations, let alone FP+ issues.

Does MS have the ability to combine reservations into one number that were booked using two different contracts of mine?

If I am 'stuck' with two different reservations numbers, aside from having two FP+ windows, will I have to go to the front desk and check in again for the second part of the trip?

Is there a way to determine via either DVC or MDE to check to see if the reservations were linked?

Log onto your DVC member acct and "see" if you still have one reservation number or two. If two, call MS again and state that you did not have your previous request met. Also, you might want to send an e-mail using the website to MS requesting that they be combined. If one and they cover the full range of dates for your reservation, then go to the MDE site and delete the reservation you do not need anymore.
I have always found when booking one reservation using multiple DVC member numbers that it would stay different reservations. Maybe the MS rep thought that they could do so, but found out they were wrong.

the CM I initially spoke to was incorrect. if using two different contracts, you cannot combine under one reservation number.

was told the two res are linked but I will have to check out and back in but will keep the same room.

re FP+ was informed that the days bookable are based upon the length of ticket linked. we will have APs, so should be ok with the 2nd part of our visit.

I don't know if this is correct. I would send an email instructing MS to modify the reservation including all of the days.

Give it a try, it couldn't hurt.

thanks, I sent an email request, will report back

Received email back that indicated I had received an answer to my question by member services in the interim of them responding to my email

I said I would like to hear as to 'why' the res couldn't be combined.

If I receive another email reply will post

Are your two contracts different use years or different memberships?

a different membership # was used for the waitlist day. When I initially called and asked MS 'how' I would wait list with a different contract (this is a new resale contract I just purchased this year with a different UY) , I received instructions to proceed as I would usually. However, was told to call back and they would combine the reservations.

sounds as though I was initially given incorrect information by the CM when I waitlisted. Appears I'm on a roll:rolleyes: with getting erroneous information from MS.:confused3Never had any major issues in the past as to explanations to my questions. Whatever the appropriate rules are, I wish MS would just state them clearly.

Member Services does not have a lot of experience working with multiple memberships, so I'm not surprised you would get an incorrect answer. The reservation would be separate, just like if you rented a reservation from someone; the reservation can't be combined. I doubt they could even combine a reservation using two use years under the same membership.

I didn't notice any problems with FP+ reservations with separate reservations; I'm doing a split stay and was able to book everything at 60 days from the first check-in. I did have some problems with dining reservations at 180+10, but overcame that problem by calling. You might have to go to the front desk to check out and back in, or they may call your room and offer to take care of it over the phone for you. If you're parking a car, you'll need to go to the front desk to get a new parking permit.

thanks for the hint re the parking pass, wouldn't have thought of it

I've yet to get the 180+ to work with any DVC res online, figure sooner or later they'll work that out
