FP+ is Live! Magic Bands in the park!

I really don't think a hundred guests getting "extra fastpasses" will affect anyone's touring, in any measurable way, regardless of how long they let it run.

Yep...especially since this is basically the same test they have been running for about a year now, but previously had a lot more users.

So with these new bracelets, if they are all out when we go, does that mean I get to choose my favorite color for me and my kids. Just a question! :confused3:thumbsup2

so does this mean those using tickets they already have, and not a new ticket package, won't get it? And especially not if staying off site?

I'm honestly not sure how this will all work, however it is my understanding this will be available to all guests... there are people much smarter than me on this board, I'm sure if you stick around you will get much better answers :thumbsup2

So at this point it really seems like it's still in the testing phase - since those testing it can use FP as well as FP+ - so we really don't have any information that we didn't already have from previous tests? That's what it seems like so far, anyway.

I'm going to be a minority here... but I would LOVE to have access to FP+ for my Sept. vacation and fingers are crossed that they will start pilot testing this soon.

I've had absolutely ZERO issues with the MyDisneyExperience App... although it certainly isn't anything worthy prior to arrival. I downloaded the app, created a Disney account (booked my Disney vacation online, as a guest, and created a new email for this process), had no problems linking my reservation, and creating My Profile and Guest's.

When on the actual site, I assigned characters and created my daily itinerary. The graphics are pretty impressive (which I'm sure plays a part in the occasional lag) and the dinning reservations I had made on my cell (under the same email address) were automatically linked, almost immediately. :ssst:

If i was having this experience with the app and the website, I'm pretty sure i would feel a little different. BUT the fact that i cant see my reservations and some of my dining reservations are missing i don't have much faith in the FP+ working as it should. Those two things should be an important thing for Disney to have working correctly. Don't they want me to be able to pay for my vacation online instead of having to call? And be able to view my Dining plans and not have to call AGAIN to make sure they actually went through and exist? (i have made it to the end and when i called to make sure they vanished into thin air.) IF Disney can ever get there act together with the technology problems then i would be slightly more on board with this whole idea.

i must say i really hate this scheduling thing, as it is now with ADRs its nearly impossible to do many things without booking 6 months in advance and that kills us locals who dont plan trips like that, if FP+ turns into me having book 2 months in advance to ride Toy Story Mania with a fast pass I really probably will be going to the parks much less.

Not necessarily true. One theory is that you will get 3 attractions per day that you can FP+ in advance, and in addition to those 3 you will be able to "pull" (virtually) FPs the day of from the attractions just like before. No one knows if this is true or not, just speculation.

I really hope this is the case because being limited to 3 per day would stink but if I could also go to the park and obtain additional fastpasses then I would love that!!

::yes::

Thankfully the app works just fine for me. It shows my split DVC stay, all my dining reservations, has let me assign characters to my family & I have set up some of my itinerary. Ok, originally I wasn't for it, but bring it on - I'm ready!

Josh, you make a good point. Locals seem to have been overlooked in this newest technology.

I hope the speculation about same-day FP being available turns out to be true for all the locals.

I am surprised so many say they have issues with the app or the web site.

On my iPhone 5, I have never had one issue. All of my plans show up and the site loads very quickly.

Can I ask what kind of computer and phone are people using when they have issues?

My sister will be using a galaxy 3 when she travels. I wonder if the issues are all with android phones.

I have a droid and I haven't had any issues.

this is good stuff.. some posts just crack me up.. Didnt I see somewhere in the post that all if not most of the fp+ machines at the various rides were still covered up?

popcorn:: So really it's like the test I was part of September, except then it was MK only, and RFID cards instead of wristbands.

I, too, haven't had any problems with My Disney Experience website. Made some reservations over the phone and some online, then changed a few online, added to my itinerary. It's all there and looking good.

See and I think the opposite, I would rather be able to book TSM 2 months in advance. Even being local I know pretty much when I'm going to visit the parks so being able to grab those FP for the big rides in advance would be great.

My family has been to the parks numerous times over the past year, we are not hard core so we never make Rope Drop which means that usually by the time we get there the good rides have long waits and FP return times are very late or even gone. This new plan would work GREAT for people like us!
