We are getting ready to make our FP+ reservations for our trip January 2-9. It's me, my husband, our son (15), and daughter (3). Our daughter is about 1/2 inch too short for most of the rides like Splash Mtn, etc (and she really wants to ride them). There is a chance she will be tall enough by then since kids seem to grow an inch overnight at times, but I am not counting on it.

Soooo....which rides should I get FP+ for our family. My son does not do roller coasters (other than Space Mtn or BTMR) and he is okay spending more time in areas that my daughter will enjoy. I am planning to get the following:

Magic Kingdom: Peter Pan's Flight and Barnstormer. I may get FP+ for Splash Mtn for me, hubs, and son and do child swap for the little one. Or, should I get SM or BTMR for hubs and son, and a Princess Meet for me and my daughter at the same time?

Epcot: TT is the only thing we have ever used FP+ on here, so I don't know if we will even do any.

HS: TSM for sure and probably Disney Junior, but don't know what should be our 3rd.

AK: Kilamanjaro Safaris is a definite, but open to ideas on the others.

Hey there! Looks like we,ll be there the same days. I believe Splash will be down for refurb. With Epcot we picked Soarin'.Just maybe the new dwarf ride will be up, though.

I saw a post titled fastpass+ priorities or something recently, I think that might help. :thumbsup2

As the PP said, Splash will be closed when you are there. I would get at least one BTMRR and SM FP+ for your son (and husband), since he likes those. You and your daughter could do Buzz or the Speedway while they are on SM and Pirates or the Haunted Mansion while they are on BTMRR.

Epcot: TT is the only thing we have ever used FP+ on here, so I don't know if we will even do any.

Soarin' is a good use of a FP+. If you want to do both Soarin' and TT you will need to schedule them on different days since they are both Tier 1 attractions.

We usually do TT in the Single Rider line. If your DD is not tall enough to ride this would be a good option and would save you the FP+. One of you can sit with her while the others ride and then the "sitter" can go in and ride when they return.

HS: TSM for sure and probably Disney Junior, but don't know what should be our 3rd.

Star Tours? The Great Movie Ride? Beauty and the Beast on stage?

AK: Kilamanjaro Safaris is a definite, but open to ideas on the others.

You could do the character meet & greet, Tough to Be a Bug or the Nemo show.

Have fun planning!

I've been using this board to help plan for our trip in Jan... Great list.

Agree with everyone who said splash would be down. I haven't heard a thing about the mine train being open before Feb/Mar??

It's not easy coming up with 3 choices... there are too many restrictions.

Splash isn't down until Jan 6 from what I have seen, so we will have a couple days if we choose to do it. If not, its fine...we will go back when she is bigger :).

We have always gone this week in January and although busy, we rarely use FP for anything...usually just Splash, SM, and TT. Lines are not too bad after January 3 or 4 and we don't mind standing in line talking with people. I don't think I have stood in line for more than 30-45 for anything in the past and this is fine for us.

So, FP+ is different for us. We don't have to use them, but if there are things I know we need them for (like TSM-we never have been able to get on this one!), then I want to get one.

MouseMomx2: Soarin' is not something my family rides. None of us like it. We are definitely in the minority on that one!

Star Tours is something my husband and son would ride (simulators leave me with a migraine), so this is a good one for them. Daughter and I would do something else during this time or hang out in the shop.

I have never stood in any line at the Great Movie Ride...it has always been walk on. Don't want to waste a FP on that. BATB is a good idea though or VOTLM.

The Nemo show at AK is a good idea....we have never done this one.

Thanks for the ideas!

thanks! There are a few on the priority list that we will want FP+ for, but there are several that we would prefer to not get one for. So, not sure if we will even use all 3 passes available every day. Our biggest park to use FP in is MK, and we will have 3 days there, so we will have plenty of time to get FP+ for everything we want to do there.

I am skeptical to use a FP+ on any show. If there is not reserved seating, what is the point?

Also, now that I see the reserved seating for Dis.Jr has poor viewing, we will be in the standby line for that. I want my daughter to be able to see and have an awesome time!

So far as I have seen reported, the MDX systems requires that you make all your selections. I think it's a waste but that's how it works. You can change them later while in the park if you find an attraction you thought would have little wait, needs a FP+ or just miss the one you made.
