FP+geting extra FP added

So we have not been since the new FP+ system has been in affect, we'll be there in October. I was talking with a good friend yesterday about it and she said when they were there recently that they were able to have more than 3 FP. They were staying at CR and the monorail wasn't working so a CM added an unlimited FP to their bands for the day and on another day they approached a CM (she said with an ipad) and asked if he could add some FP to their band and he did, for 3 more attractions

Has anyone else had any experience with this?

Certainly not the norm, sounds like mostly pixie dust.
