FP for MK parade with toddler?

We have a 20 month old. We'll be in MK 3 days and I was thinking of getting a FP for the parade. I don't want to have to stake out a spot but I also don't want to have to wait around for the parade to get to us. My little guy doesn't have lots of patience but I know he would enjoy it. Suggestions?

if the fast pass is for the afternoon parade you will wait a while before it gets to you but if its for the nighttime parade it starts right there
