FP+ experience - very few times to choose from

I just booked my FP+ 60 days out. I was very disappointed in the choices of times. After choosing my options between A, B, and C, I tried to change them manually one at a time. I was only given about 6 choices for each. I really thought there would be many more options. One item only had choices for first thing like 9am and then the rest were all later than 5pm. I guess I wrongly assumed that getting on right at 60 days and at midnight when I was eligible would really make sure I had lots of options. Thought I'd make the most efficient touring plan - NOT!

Kinda disappointed in the choices, but glad it's done and I don't have run all over the park to get them.

But it is not midnight yet?? And your ticker suggests you still have more than 60 days before your trip?? Maybe there is some glitch that is letting you have access to the FP+ system early (assuming you do have more than 60 days before your trip) and once you hit the 60 day mark more (all) times will become available. I have been switching around times for both my April and May trips and have only been blocked from meeting Anna and Elsa (and this still randomly comes available). All other rides I have looked at have pretty much had times at any point in the day. Also, when you are trying to change your times, times that have any overlap with other FP times won't show up so make sure you don't have anything at the time you are looking for. I have had to change multiple fastpass selections just to change the time for one.

Try going in tomorrow. I had something similar happen to me (accept I was only planning my vacation 30 days prior). I had poor choices and made some with what was offered, but I went in manually the next day and found some good ones.

Actually prioritizing them differently got me better times too. Ex) I wanted to ride Space Mountain the Most, but by switching priority of that with Splash Mountain got me better times.

Good luck!

Thanks, didn't think about priority. Now that I've already chosen times, how do I do that?

Do you have ADRs scheduled for late breakfast or lunch or early dinner? That will often affect your FP+ availability/choices of times given. There are ways to work around that if you want your FP+ times to overlap with meal times.

I do have meals scheduled, but only 1 per day and I don't need overlapping times. One day I have no meals scheduled. I am being offered about 5 choices and that's it. Usually 2pm or later for most.

How do I redo the priorities to get different choices?

Just go back in and edit your fast passes one at a time. It is a better way to get the times that you want then to try and manipulate the pre-scheduled options that the website gives you. If you go through this for each ride, you will find that there are plenty of choices. And don't just give up this early if you aren't happy with your selections. There will be plenty of times available this far out. Off site visitors don't get to pick fp+ for another 29 days.:)

ETA: Here is what I told my daughter when she complained about the fast pass times that she was given when she used the suggested options.

After you have made all your fastpasses you can go back to a selection and modify it. One way to do it is to go to your itinery and click on that particular attraction. At the bottom of the screen you will see a button that says "modify Fastpass+". Click on that you will be given a choice of either changing the experience or changing the time.

I was playing with the fastpasses just now to see what was available for this Friday and there were plenty of times available five days out. :)

I did try this and I am still only being given about 5 choices. I would get something crazy like this:
9:05 - 10:05
2:00- 3:00
2:10-3:10
2:20-3:20
5:30-6:30

As you can tell, it's more like 3 options as many are similar. How many options do you get at a time? Am I seeing all available options? I tried changing them one at a time and that did not help. I did see how to re-prioritize and that was by re-selecting all 3 choices as if I was changing them all. I changed the order of priority and was given different time slots to choose from, though this did not seem to help so I canceled out of it and just kept what I had.

If you have correctly gone in and chosen individual times (after your initial a/b/c/d options) and that's all that it is showing you, that means either the times are all booked up, the available times conflict with your other FP options, they don't have enough FPs in a single slot for yor entire group, or it conflicts with your ADRs.

My ticker is wrong. Wasn't sure the exact day when I made it and just left it. It's pretty close!

Just to check. I went in to make fastpasses for Friday, April 18th - for HS. I choose TSMM, Star Tours, and Tower of Tower. I took the option that gave me afternoon and early evening times. I then hit the Done button. Then I went back in to change the TSMM time. I have the option of 8 different times to choose from, which is a good number of times considering that this is the most diesired ride at HS and this Friday, April 18th is one of the busiest days of the spring break season. I'm not exactly sure why you aren't seeing more options. Are you using the website or an app? I am on the MDE website on my computer.

I don't understand why you are trying to re-prioritze the experiences. I never pay any attraction to the priority. I can move the times around any way I want. If my first selection was TSMM, followed by Star Tours and Tower of Terror, and later I decide that I want to do ToT first and TSMM after dinner, then I just go in and change each of the times.

I guess it depends on what you are choosing, but I just made my FP+ yesterday and I had tons of times to choose from 57 days out.

I actually found it kind of a pain. You cannot overlap times on your FP+. For example, if #1 is 10-11am they wont show you any other rides until after 11am. First I just let it default me times. Then I went in and changed the times of 2 of them to really late or really early...times I did not want. Then it opened up the times for the other one in the time slots I wanted. I chose #1, I then went back and edited the times for #2 and #3 to what I wanted.

I had one day where it warned me the FP+ time overlapped a dining reservation. It let me choose it anyway.....but it was just a default choice until I went in to edit them with times I wanted.

Good luck getting what you are looking for.

regards

What times do you have your 2 other fastpasses scheduled for? If you have them scheduled for 10:05-11:05 and then 11:05-12:05, you will not see any times available until after 12:05 or later. If I want to schedule my fastpasses in the morning, I usually chose one of the default options in the afternoon or evening, and then change each of the fastpasses to my desired times in AM.

According to a CM here on the forum, Disney does not release all FP+ at 60 days out. They are holding back up to 40% of all availability.

This is really going to be a PITA. I need very specific timing for FP+ reservations to make my plan work. I had hoped to be done at 60 days out but it now appears I will be "tweaking" until we leave. Argggghhhhhh! I like planning but ...really...REALLY?

If you have very specific times that you want, here's what I would do:

1. Select an option that doesn't include ANY of the times you want.

2. After the original reservations are made, change the reservation time for each attraction, one by one, putting it into the time slot you want.

For example, if I want 3 reservations between 5 and 8 PM, I select an option that has all of the reservations in the morning or early afternoon and then change them one by one into the 5-6, 6-7, and 7-8 slots. It's a little tedious, but once you get familiar with how the website works you can complete a day's worth of reservations in less than 5 minutes.

I haven't been seeing any reports of times being unavailable 60 days out, even for the most popular attractions, so if you are able to book at the 60 day mark you should be able to get exactly what you want and then forget about it until your trip. My daughters were able to do that for a trip they have planned for the busy week before Easter.

This is absolute insanity.

This is what I have done and it works - even during Spring Break with only 2 weeks before travel. I don't want morning FP+, so my first selections are all for morning FP+ reservatons. I then get many options for the time slots that I am really interested in - in the afternoon - and I make my changes.

You just have to think about how the system works.

Also, do not add your ADRs to MDE until you have booked your FP+. It will block those times, too.
