FP+ Details Are Out!

exactly!:thumbsup2

I kind of look at it as Disney is working on "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"

Yep, as I've said, FP+ is line socialism. We uber users are giving our extra E-ticket FPs back to the Mouse, so he can give them to the needy folks who don't currently know how to get E-ticket FPs for free, or show up at 3 pm.

I'll stick with the Universal Capitalism model, and stay at the Hard Rock.

So if you're a family of 5 going for 7 nights, you're going to pay $210 per person for a total of $1,050 add on cost?

That cost would be more than some families pay for their hotel for the entire length of their trip.

You wouldn't need to go for 5 days, if you rode rides like crazy for one day.

I will say one thing. The people on here against FP+ sure are vocal.

I am not a fan unless daily FP is available, and that would mean holding a percentage back if that is possible.

That being said, I think Disney is smart enough that if all of you plus many more STOP going and profits are down they WILL change the system.

My bet is they make a TON more money, and the attendance doesn't decrease at all and probably increases.

One positive is that we won't have Fast Pass wars at Toy Story Mania anymore! :)

I agree! When we were there in June 2012, there were FAR too many tears and angry faces around TSM. Disney is not the place for those things (well..okay maybe we are all guilty of those things at some point down there anyways)

Maybe not specific to TSMM, but there will be wars...a system like FP+ with so many variables, it will only be a matter of time before DIS'r super users learn all the loopholes of the new system...that is if there are any DIS'rs who attend WDW after FP+ is rolled out.

Oh, and yes, there will be loopholes...it's inevitable. It will only be a matter of time before the regulars start reporting the distribution patterns of FP+ and how to use same day changes to ones advantage by understanding how it distributes based on crowd levels; what type of tickets to purchase; what resorts seem to always have 3 headliners available everytime when prebooking; whether or not the availability of FP+'s are different at the kiosks vs. MDE; booking ADR's at non traditional meal times to get ADR avialability and it just so happens there is better FP+ availability; whether having a magicband vs. an RFID card is an advantage; if there's a way to double book a trip; maybe if you continually check the kiosk you get additional bonus FP+'s, etc...the list will be endless.

no doubt this will be fertile ground for those who take the time to figure out all the nuances and to maximize the hidden loopholes.:cool1:

then we can look forward to many heated threads and thread closings on a whole host of new topics:rotfl:

When we used to visit DLCA as locals, we discovered that if your ticket in the FP kiosk a second or third try, eventually it would spit out an extra FP. Not sure if this was a glitch, a secret, a bonus or what? but we got many extra FP's that way.

Ah yes, loop holes. I remember back when FP first came to Disneyland you could bring in old tickets and they would work in the FP machines. My friends would save all their old admission tickets and bring a stack of them to the park and load up on FP's for the day.

So, it's only MYW packages included in the August test??? We have a RO reservation but I have tickets linked but I don't have any "Magic Bands" or FP+ live links. We are within the test date period so I was just wondering. Definitely don't want to show up to be locked out of conventional FP AND not have any FP+ reservations booked. :crazy2:

Might someone remind me again why we decided it was a bad idea to link tickets to MDE? My reticence was my standard: I only play with Disney technology when it's been around for a while (Note: see past personal experience). :)

What was the bad thing that would happen? Was it having to go to guest services to have new passes printed? :confused3 Too much "stuff" to keep track of here...

I have exchange vouchers for an AP, so I have to go to guest svcs anyway... danger? :confused3

Maybe not AT Disney, but if FP's run out now how will they not run out when people are able to schedule 60 days in advance. There is far too much demand for that ride than there are possible FP's. There are still going to be people left out of the TSMM FP pool. How angry will they be when they find out those that have them didn't just get up early that day they did 60 days ago.

For reference my DW took DD and 4 friends to Six Flags St Louis yesterday and bought them all "Gold Flash Passes". It cost about $250 and she said it was the greatest thing ever. They rode all the headliners multiple times and had a great time despite 94 degree heat and crowds.

There will issues with TSMM, they will just be spread out. Some will realize when they don't get a FP at 59 days out that it isn't happening and express their disappointment in the confines of their home. Some will hold out hope they can get one still same day. When they can't, they'll express their displeasure to some poor unsuspecting CM at the park. But the emotions and disappointments will still be there.

Maybe that precludes "wars" but I honestly never saw anything remotely close to a TSMM war anyway.

Oh, and yes, there will be loopholes...it's inevitable. .

You mean like accepting a "bonus" FP for POTC and finding out you can switch it to Splash? :cool1: You can bet a fair number of us made mental note of that.

But loopholes aren't what they used to be..... you know.... since that fancy new-fangled internet thing started. ;)

If Disney is smart, they'll have some intern monitoring these boards to keep them addressing the loopholes as they pop up..... like one big game of whack-a-mole.
