FP availability today

We never waited in one standby line all week except at HS where they were practically walk ons at night. We kept hopping FP to FP all day!
Love this!! I have read so much about it but glad to hear to works in practice!

I’m just amazed by this! Do you still mess with rope drop or just make your FP early to get through your 3 as fast as possible?

We normally show up around opening time...not normally front of the pack...we don't worry about racing everyone to start the day.

As far as park strategy and use of FP's it depends on the park. Here's a normal day when we're not sleeping in.

MK- standby BTM twice when its walk on..then splash. FP 7DMT 9-10, PP 10-11, Whatever 11-12. Near the end of the first FP I will go do 7DMT and then PP at the beginning of its time. Then modify my 3rd to something we feel like riding (maybe Haunted Mansion or something else near PP). Then we just decide what area we want to go and start adding FP's. There really is no advantage to using the FP's asap if you're walking on to rides. As soon as theres any line start modifying FP's.

AK- Head to EE first to ride it twice with no wait. Then over to Pandora for a FP. If it's still early we'll move up our 2nd. Probably Safari. Then modify the 3rd FP to get another tier 2 used up. Then just use FP's wherever we decide to go. We'll take a FOP FP anytime we can if its within 1-1.5 hours because theres shows we can do to kill time.

EPCOT- FP for either Soarin' or TT first thing. Then modify the 2nd and 3rd to get the tier 2 used up (typically first 3 FP's will be used in the first hour) Then we like to hit each tier 1 twice with FP's.

HS- Plan when more rides come online will be same idea as Epcot.

Thank you for these details! I love reading strategies! MK seems the most difficult for me to plan because there are so many little kid rides for my girls - most of which don’t necessarily require a FP but the wait times add up so the continual use of FP will be really helpful! Definitely will FP 7DMT and PP. I have to work around a 9:45 breakfast our first day which makes it a little more complicated but I think we can time it right. Second day nothing until lunch so will definitely get our first 3 in ASAP.

Touring plans has a Fastpass chart that shows you what fastpasses are left on the current day and for the next 60+ days! I’ve been studying it like crazy. Not sure if it’s free or part of the subscription service because I did subscribe.

Where are you seeing the 60+ days? I am only seeing for tomorrow, which has most available first thing in the morning!

In the app you can only advance 1 day at a time by clicking the arrow next to the date (upper left of the screen), but on the website there is a calendar icon near the upper right of the page next to where you select the park. You can use that to look at end of August availability. I was just curious how quickly slinky dog dash was being being “sold out”, as well as morning times for FEA and 7DMT, although I realize it doesn’t mean there won’t be availability later.

We did still do rope drop. Let's say the park opened at 9. We would be there by 8. Often we were first in line at rope. It was nice and cool and we are a packed breakfast sitting down. Park opens at 9 and we go to a rode known for long lines let's say Seven Dwarfs or Peter Pan etc. I usually had first fast pass set for 9:30-10:30 so after riding short lines for a hour or so we started fast passes. In MK we went through three fast passes then scheduled a fourth for after our BOG lunch. I know we got Winnie the Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Dumbo, Buzz, Jungle as extras. We rarely did standby. We did for a handful but most are known to be short like Philharmagic or Monster Inc. we filled gaps with these or shows etc. so with original fast passes then extras and short line attractions we had a fabulous day at MK. I think after the fact TP had that day at an 8 crowd level. Not sure this method will continue to work as well as more and more people learn about getting extra fast passes. Once I was looking for a Nemo show fast pass and it showed nothing and after a couple of refreshes one popped up for that exact next show. So refresh can work. I won't be the person refreshing for 30 minutes though. I usually do some while in line for a fast pass attraction and that's it. I grab something and keep enjoying our family time.

But that's the reason a lot of people use refresh and say rope drop is no longer needed. You sat outside the park for an hour...and had to get up early for that. We're here now, and just woke up a little while ago. We'll show up at HS around 10:30am and get as much done as the rope dropper. We've got our first 3 FP+, which we can blow through quickly, then go get more. That's the beauty of refreshing. If you want to be up that early, nothing wrong with rope drop. You just don't need to.

One strategy we use a lot is to show up near the end of our first FP+ window. So if it's 10am to 11am, we'll show up at 10:50am. That way, we don't even need to modify the second FP+...by time we get off the first ride, it's already time for FP+ #2. Then I only have to modify #3 and we're good to go.

What’s the multi experience FP?

Right after I made the Frozen FP the ride went down so it changed to the multi experience in it's place.

Funny story about that. Our AP's recently expired but we have a family vacation coming in December and I'm handling everything. We have tickets purchased for family members and I'm using those tickets/individuals right now when I'm looking at FP's. When a ride goes down you get an email explaining that fact, well, the person who gets the Multi-Experience does. My brother had some of his staff in his office for a meeting when he gets this unexpected email (he's the boss). He tells them something more important has come up and he has to read this email so stops everything while he reads it....he then announces to his staff that the frozen ride is no longer available. Priorities! lol

Does the multiple experiences FP mean you can use it for any ride? Its doesn't have a time.

Normally it will be able to be used in that park anytime during that same day. If you click to see the details it will list what rides it is good for. Because it was a FEA FP that I got it for it was good for any ride in the park. If it had have been for a tier 2 ride it probably would have only worked on other tier 2 rides and if it had have been for TT or Soarin' it probably would have excluded FEA.

Thanks! That was another questions I had; without paper FPs, how do you ride later if the ride happens to be 101 during your FP time? Thats this multiple expereince FP; can you still make a 4th, 5th etc FP holding the multiple experience FP?

No, you have to use it first.

Yes, it's just a bonus and doesn't affect any other usage of FP's. Just make sure that when you tap into any of your other FP's you are in your window otherwise it will use the Anytime FP.

If it's one of your first 3, you'd have to use it. We ran into this just a few days ago. Got rained out of BTMRR...had to use the Anytime before we could make more. But the system was being goofy...we used it, but it didn't disappear. The kids used it to ride SM twice in less than an hour. We weren't going to complain. :D

If it’s one of the first 3 correct?

Great tip because that’s exactly something I would do!

Nice! :woohoo:

You don't have to use the anytime FP before adding more FP's. Getting the anytime just doesn't count as a FP having been used so if you got one for a tier 2 you would still have to add another tier 2 and use it to have it counted as having used a tier 2.

I think I understand.......clearly this is my first FP rodeo. I appreciate your patience answering all my questions.

I believe if its 1 of your first three, you can add back that one to your three, not counting your anytime. Then when those three are used you can keep adding one at a time not counting your anytime. Has that been anyones experience?

Correct. You can add a FP to replace the lost one and keep the anytime.
