FP+ and Upgrading tickets

I would like to buy 7 day base tickets well before our trip, in order to book my FP+ times at the 60 day mark. My plan is to then add the ParkHopper and waterpark options to those tickets at the park.

My question is - Will the upgrading of those tickets cause me to loose all my FP+ reservations ?

It shouldn't. We added park hoppers to our 10 day tickets and later in the week we upgraded to annual passes. Both times our FP reservations remained intact.
