FP+ and really old passes

I just want to clarify to make sure what I have gleaned from the threads on FP+ is correct. My dh and I each have 2 days left on passes we have from our honeymoon in 2001. I know they are still valid as they were not expiring and I checked on them when we were there in 2011 and confirmed we each had 2 days left plus 4 waterpark days. Anyway, they will not scan in the MDE app, nor will it accept the number if I punch it in. So, I am presuming they are way too old to be used with FP+ and that I need to go to guest services when I arrive and get them exchanged for new passes? And thus can't book FP+ 30 days out? We aren't buying any other passes for this trip for us as DS is going down a week ahead with his grandparents and they will do all the WDW parks they want during that week - DH and I arrive a day or two before Xmas crazyness should start so aren't planning too much park time - just the two days we each have left.

I had very old non-expiry tickets as well and just called in....it took a while but the CM was able to get them into my MDE so I could reserve FP+s. Only trick that I was not expecting is that when they are that old, they want to know what park you last used them in which was a stretch for me to try to remember!

I phoned in this am and learned something that may be interesting for anyone with old passes who is trying to link them. If you can't get it to add in the app, then try in the web version on your computer. I couldn't get the passes to scan or enter manually when using the app, but when the CM I spoke to guided me through entering them on the website, they added no problem. There was a slight delay though between when I entered the number and when it would allow me to click next though, but they added no problem and I will be able to book FP+ when my dates come up.
