Good day, folks! I've searched the forums but been unable to resolve this question - so apologies in advance if it's been addressed elsewhere. Here is my predicament:

My family (myself, wife, and daughter) are headed to WDW for 8 days and will be staying at the AKL. My mother, who lives in central Florida would like to come out one day and go to the parks with us. She is purchasing her own ticket. During that day, we will have several FP+'s reserved as well as plan on booking an ADR for BOG at lunchtime.

My question is - how do I get my mother (who is on a separate 1-day park ticket and not staying at a resort) on the same FP+ as us so that she can enjoy the rides with us as a group? In addition, how am I able to book her as part of our lunch party?

- Am I able to add her to my MDE - and simply book her FP+ with us?
- Am I able to add more parties than are staying at the hotel to my ADR?

Again, apologies if this is a newbie question, but it's been nearly 20 years since I've been to Disney, so much of this is new for me.

Thanks in advance!

If your mother has MDE, you can add her to your Friends & Family and book FP for her at 60 days even if she is not an on-site guest.

You can make ADRs for as many people as you want. We have local family who join us for ADRs on our visits all the time.

Have a great trip!

ETA: Just make sure her park ticket is linked to her MDE account by the time you book FP.

Thanks for such a quick response. As a follow up question - my mother is 70yo and.... how to put this diplomatically.... not the most adept at technology. Is the MDE app required for her to download and link her ticket to for this to work with respect to fast passes?

If yes, would we be able to download the MDE app onto say, my wife's phone, and link my mother's ticket to that one in order to book the fast passes? I worry that she will stuff it up if my mom has to manage the MDE app and her ticket.

Your Mother does NOT need her own account.

Add her name to your account and link her ticket. Book FPs for her as part of your group.

Awesome - thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Perhaps it would be easier for me to just purchase her 1 day ticket and handle all of this and then she won't have to manage anything. She could just reimburse me upon arrival.

I appreciate the clarification.

Yes - this !! 100% agree with Hiro

My mil has taken 2 trips with us and it was much easier to add her to my MDE, get her a ticket and then book her with our FP+ etc. If you don't want to purchase her a MB she can use her ticket for park entrance and FP+. My mil did not like the MB at all so that's what she used.

For FP+ you can make hers with yours at T60 as long as at least one person in the onsite party has the same FP+ as your mother.

Has anyone done this with groups staying at two different resorts? I know the benefit of being under one account is that I could book all of our fast passes together and we could more easily ride all the same rides. But what would be the limitations if we were under one MDE but at two different resorts? I know mobile ordering would be an issue unless we just work out the costs later of who knows what.

Resort location doesn’t matter. This even works for onsite + offsite guests.
