FP+/4th, 5th FP worked well for us @ MK

We were at WDW 5/2-5/8. I booked all our FP for each park in advance. On our first day, Sat at MK, we arrived around 2:45 and our first FP started at 3:20. Our final FP that day was ay 6:10 for the mine train. At 6:30 we went to one of the FP kiosks and got a Philharmagic FP that started 10 min. later, just enough time to walk over there. Then we went back and got a Buzz light year FP, wait times were between 20-30 for Buzz all evening, but DD hates to wait much more than 10, so it worked for us. Our second day at MK we came back at 6PM at night and at 6:30 got another FP (can't remember for what) but we came back after 7 PM and BTMRR popped up and we took it for an 8:10 FP and were glad we did, as we rode it in the dark!

The FP kiosks did not have long lines. We usually had to wait for one person and got right to the kiosk. Is it annoying to have to go to the kiosk instead of booking one on your phone? Yes, but I'm glad to have the option!

We were there end of April. We thought having FP on the app would cut down on the walking back and forth across the park for paper Fastpasses. Instead, now we were walking back and forth to FP kiosks.

We had two different experiences with 4th/5th FP+. On the busy MK day, after noon, lines were 30+ minutes standby for nearly every ride. Lines were never bad at FP kiosks, but best you could get was typically a FP from 2 to 4 hours away. I think we were able to use 6 FP total that day.

On the less busy MK day, a lot of rides were 10-20 minutes wait. We could go to a kiosk and get a FP 5 minutes from now! All afternoon it was ride, get FP at kiosk, ride immediately, get another FP at kiosk, ride immediately, etc. Rode Space Mountain 4 times with FP. But as the day went on, they started shutting down the kiosks. By 6pm they had closed the kiosks near Buzz/Monsters, and covered half the kiosks at Philharmagic. That caused the lines to grow at kiosks, we were waiting 5-10 minutes to get FP, longer if you got in line behind someone who had no idea what they were doing.
