Hi all,

we are headed to DL late March…as expected, car rental prices are through the roof. We will be taking some side trips so a car is a must for us. Does anybody have any experience with FOX rental cars? We booked with “priority pass” direct on their website and even with that we are getting prices about $200 lower than anybody else. i am not expecting much but hoping with this priority pass (an extra $20 for our rental) helps…supposedly you go to the front of the line by having a special check in counter. DH reminded me that we had an awful experience with Avis some years ago at LAX, so there are no guaramtees with going with a higher end brand. Just wondering what your experience has been with them (So we can be prepared!)!

I have rented from them twice. Once in Orlando and once in Miami.

Be prepared for the hard sell to purchase their insurance. Bring a copy of your auto policy, they may ask for it if you refuse to buy theirs.

They tend to hold onto their cars longer than the big auto rental companies do so you might get a car with 60000+ miles.

Skipping the line should be a good thing. The line can be long since each rental includes an inspection of the car with the employee and renter looking at the same time.

I only rent from Fox when the big companies are too expensive.

Thanks for the helpful info. I am just wondering what the "catch" is since they are about $200 less than anybody else in the market. Maybe it's the older cars. I wonder how the shuttle service is. I guess we will just not expect anything great and maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised. I am wondering if we need the whole auto policy or just the insurance ID card.

There have been reports of people being told they had to provide the entire declarations page to "verify that their personal policy met corporate minimums." Just the card wasn't enough.
