Is 4th of July week really crowded? How does it compare to other holiday weeks? Thanks...

I go to WDW on all the holidays--I'm a teacher--and they are all very, very crowded ON CERTAIN DAYS. If you avoid those days, your visit will be much more pleasant. At Christmas the worst days are Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. During the 4th of July, all the parks are bad in the evenings for the fireworks, and at Easter it's bad on Easter. Every few years Easter becomes horrendous, due to how Easter falls. Due to the fact that I am claustrophobic and have panic attacks when enclosed, I stay away from the Magic Kingdom on all holidays, especially the 4th.

July 4 is very crowded. I remember once riding on the monorail and seeing streams of cars trying to get into the MK. It was surreal. The fireworks are great, but you can see them (some of them, anyway!) without actually being in the park. The only way I would visit again at that time is if I stayed at the CR because it is possible to walk “home”. :smooth:

We were at WDW last year for July 4th.. the parks were not all that bad.. however we always go in the summers , so it did not seem to be terrible..

Anyway, we asssumed that July 4th would be crowded, so we hung at the pool for most of the day, then DS#1 and Dh went to Epcot to ride MS and TT and DS#2 and I went to MGM to do RnR and ToT, Crowds at both parks were not bad and the wait times were reasonable for the summer.... we met at Chef Mickey's for dinner, watched the MK fireworks from the Contempary and then walked to Mk for the night... a huge mass of people were leavng MK after the fireworks.. it was hard to get up mainstreet.. but once we did it was walk on to most E rides.. we stayed until midnight when the park closed...
