Fourth of July Fireworks Question

We'll be at GF July 1-15. We were thinking of watching the fireworks from our hotel balcony (hopefully we'll be able to - booked lagoon, request MK view) or just from the marina at the hotel. My question is should we watch the fireworks from there, or since Sorcery in the SKy is only done once a year at MGM should we brave it and go to MGM. In your opinion which is the one fireworks spectacular on the 4th that shouldn't be missed. Thank you.

i've seen all the 4th fireworks thru-out the years and nothing and i mean NOTHING compares to the magic kingdom. i watch from the shorelines of the GF and it's just amazing. fireworks go off at 9 and last bout 10-15mins. MGM usually is at 10:30. there is a chance you could make it over there but i make no promises. annother great thing about staying at the GF is all the people that come to watch the MK fireworks. the lobby is jammed packed with people and there is music and dancing. kids are in the pool. it's a super fun nite!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. I was at MK for the 4th of July fireworks in 2004. The whole week CM were saying how it will be the best ever, how they spent so much $$, etc. Of course they were still beautiful, but I they weren't any different than the regular fireworks at MK. They didn't even last that long. I guess they hyped them up too much...And the park was so crowded it took almost an hour just to get back to the gate from the castle....
