Four stars? Three stars? What's up!?

Hi,

I just want to inform you that now that I have just taken the AP English exam (3 hours, this morning, blah blah blah), that I have pretty much lost all ability to write whatsoever.

OK...

What;s up with the rating system of these posts? My Yacht & Beach Club questrion & answer forum used to be 4 stars, now it's 3, but everyone I know keeps voting 5. How are the ratings determined? Also, there are some posts where I vote 5 stars for them, but no ratings appear! Is there a glitch in the boards?

I don't have any explanation for the ratings. We'll do some checking and see what we can find out.

I know that there is a minimum # of votes required to show a rating at all. It's more than 1. (I don't know what the actual setting is though.)

As far as the amount of stars goes, I believe that it is an average.?.?

I'm not quite sure what else to say?

If you move your mouse over the stars it will tell you how many votes have been placed and the current avg score.

How do you vote for a thread? I haven't found the link.

Right below the last reply in the thread is a pulldown selection for voting. It would be right under the "Post Reply" button on the right. Click the arrow pointing down and choose a rating. Then press the "Go" button to submit.

Note: You will not see the "Vote Selection" pulldown if you are in a reply window (replying to the thread).
