I love the design of Four Seasons Oahu but the pools look ugly where the pools and room look good at Aulani. Just wondering what room should I book at either thinking of 500/night and for 5 days so 2500 for the whole trip. Or is that too low could spend up to 4000 excluding food. Also will need advice on Alan Wongs

They're two totally different vibes. Aulani is very family friendly and lively, whereas Four seasons is more sophisticated and quieter from what I've seen. For my husband and i, we love staying at Aulani for the pools and entertainment but we go to four seasons regularly to eat. Fish house in particular has incredible food and amazing drinks.

Alan Wong's was a great meal. It was our 2nd favorite of the trip. You have to have a credit to reserve through Open Table (times do fill up quickly as well)

What I would recommend as well for fine dining that has a review as well as amazing food was Hoku. It was a drive from Aulani but it was the best meal of our trip!

Both Alan Wong's and Hoku do tasting menus as well if that is what interests you as well.

Noe at the Four Seasons was also an excellent meal.

As far as hotel - which one you want would depend on what you want from a hotel. Do you normally stay at Four Seasons/Ritz/Fairmonts? If so - I would stay at the Four Seasons as that will be the service and quality you are used to. Aulani will be more of a normal hotel experience with additional nice experiences that one would expect from a Disney resort. We enjoyed our room at Aulani and the extras we arranged ourselves or were arranged for us by others for the extra level of service.

I haven't stayed at the Four Seasons in Hawaii but I have in other places for reference.

I love Per Se and Fat Duck

If you're considering Aulani, highly recommend you look into renting DVC points. Benefits include free parking, free DVD's, and potentially saving 40-60%. Hope you have a great trip, whichever resort you choose - it's so beautiful there!
