Hey everyone!!!! The kids go back to school tomorrow!!!! :woohoo: I need a break from the bickering. Having 4 kids who do not like the cold at all just makes it worse. My 2 oldest were outside today and after 1/2 hour came in complaining it's too coooollllddd. It had to be around 40 today and they still couldn't stand it.

40 That is like a heat wave at this moment it is 14 but feels like 8, thank you weather.com

I hope you have a wonderful kid free day tomorrow what will you do?

Won't be kids free. My youngest is still home but having one as opposed to 4 is so easy. But I'll probably go back to work tomorrow. I have an on line job that I can make my hours and days. I've been putting off working while the kids were home.

None of my kids like the cold and 40 is cold to them. Part of the reason why we are moving to Florida. When I was a kids, many moons ago :rotfl: , I could stay outside and play in the snow all day and night. My kids would never want to do that. They are just hot weather kids.

I went to Florida in March and was wilting like a flower.... I like to say that because saying I was sweating like a pig is just gross :lmao: Anything above 80 and I am a lost cause
On a side note I can't believe I have you all fooled into thinking I am a mature young woman:rotfl2: :rotfl2: J/K I can be when I want

Well a few nice people here have said I am mature.... good to know that the level her isn't too high, it seems that people think that mature = NO FUN and I like fun

If you can be mature when it counts, that's all that matters. But there is nothing wrong with having fun. If you can't have fun, I think it just ages you beyond your years. I'd rather act like a "kid" and not worry what others think. If they don't like, well, too bad.

Since you just had your first trip to Disney, what was your favorite thing? Did you have that moment that just said "WOW! I'm in Disney World"?

Wishes. I cried, it was just perfect. My sister and I hadn't seen each other in over a year when we went on the trip and we were standing there wrapped our arms around each other and I cried. I never thought I would make it to Disney, and never in a million years would I have thought I would go with my sis...

What has been your best moment?

This trip it would have been watching the Castle Lighting Ceremony. I have never seen anything so beautiful. (Except for my kids :goodvibes ) Had tears in my eyes too. DH thinks I'm crazy but I know I'm not alone.

Last year, it was something different. DD5 loves Captain Jack and she got picked to be in the pirate show. They made a total fuss over her and I thought my heart would burst then.

And the year before, we did the Princess dinner in Akershus. DD7 loves Jasmine. We were seated near where the Princesses come out and when Jasmine saw DD7, she skipped a bunch of tables, snuck up behind DD7 and gave her a big kiss. We had to take a picture of the lipstick mark on her cheek and it's framed on our wall.

I can't wait to have a family to share those special moments with!

Those moments are wonderful and I wouldn't change them for anything in the world. But don't rush them. When the time is right, they will happen.

Right now, I would love a trip with just my DH. We always focus on the kids when we are there and miss a lot of things that we would be interested in but would not hold the kids attention. I would love to people watch and just soak it all in. No rushing to the next ride or ADR. It's just different when you have little ones with you. Not bad different, just different.

How long have you been with DH?

It will be 14 years this month...married for 8. Wow, I forget how long it's been. A lot of family said we wouldn't last but we've proved them wrong. Things just clicked from the beginning.

How long have you been with your BF?

DBF and I started dating in January of last year, made it official Feb. 4th. We haven't been together quite a year yet, but I know he is the one:love: . When you find that person it just clicks. We want to wait until we are out of school to get married, but may move it up if he deploys early. Right now though it looks like they will wait for him to get out of school to deploy him.

I need to get to bed. I've been off my schedule with the kiddies being out of school and need to be get back on it.

It's been fun chatting with you tonight. Catch ya tomorrow!!!

Night!!!!!!!!!

Racetrack - Glad you and the kids had good holidays! And, you are right. Its important to be "mature" but you have to know when the right time is to regress a little too!

MSP - Glad you and DBF are so happy. I wish you both the best. Like Racetrack, lots of people told DH and I we would never make it. But... hey wait a minute...

Racetrack - How long did you say you and DH have been together/married?
We might have one more thing in common. If I'm doing the math right, DH and I have been together for about 14.5 years, and married for just over 8. Small world!

OK - MSP - all I was saying is that what matters most is that you 2 love and respect each other. The rest of the world be darned.

Well, docs office called this morning. No blood work yet, but the strep test came back negative. Never thought I'd be bummed to hear that. So, I'm just waiting to here whether or not the mono is positive. So, I guess I'm just hoping that its nothing more serious than that and that if it turns out to be mono, its as mild a case as possible so I can continue to raise my boys and be a good mom! (And that I'll be able to figure out whatever I need to with work. I don't know if I'll need to take time off or go on disability or what...)

Morning all:

Boy did I have lots to catch up on...loved the chat on College life. I lived in a dorm during University and had a blast. Not sure what an RA is but I assume it was a student 'babysitter'...we didn't have anyone to supervise us...just 300 guys and girls running wild!!

:surfweb: Had a lousy night sleep so I'm going to be living on coffee today. Have some stuff to do on the computer this morning...gotta get the school newsletter finished...this afternoon I have to take Mom to a funeral.

MSP - Sorry about your loss.

MK - Hope you're feeling better. So far we've only been fighting coughs & colds...no sign of anyone catching niece's chicken pox.

Hey Racer...DH & I are coming up on 14 years too...11 married. I'm still hoping for that holiday for just the two of us...maybe when the kids go off to University.

Have a good day Ladies.

Ok, found the quote.

DH and I started dating 14 yrs ago this past May. And were married 8 years in September.

This is gonna sound SO strange, but:

Lighttech, I'm so sorry you don't have strep!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

D&DDisney, what is an electric starter for your charcoal grill? We have a gas grill now because I can't stand the after taste from the lighter fluid. I'd love to be able to go back to charcoal.

It has been surreal around here. Our family has almost been normal, or at least as normal as we can be. I think this has been the best holiday we've had in years (even if the kids did drive me crazy :lmao: ) I just want to thank you all for listening to me when the times have been bad, very bad. I don't know how I would have gotten through it all without you all. :grouphug:
So glad things are "normal" at your house. Isn't that a wonderful feeling??
Here's a link to an electric starter. http://www.target.com/gp/search/175...r grill&field-keywords=electric starter grill
We got it as a wedding shower gift w/ a grill. Never knew what it was until I got one - and I LOVE IT!. Basically, you dump coals into grill. Stick the starter under the coals and plug in for 10 min. After 10 min. I just arrange the coals in a nice hill around the hot ones and poof ... the charcoal ignites with a very small fire. This method takes longer than usual, so you have to plan ahead a bit. No biggie for me. I hated lighter fluid taste! :crazy2:

Loved our trip alone this year. First EVER. We've been married 16 years and together for 23 years. (High School sweethearts  ) It definitely is different w/o kids. Although we enjoyed it, we talked about them a lot and wished they were with us - at SOME moments.

Lighttech - Still hoping for good news. I had to have 3 blood tests way back when. All neg for mono. Never did find out what exactly I had then.

Princess - So sorry about your loss.

Gotta get back to work now! :surfweb:
