How do you co-ordinate line swapping with a large family?? At the time of our trip are kids will be 8, 5, 5 and 10 months. Can one parent take a couple of kids on the ride then swap with the other parent, who rides with the other couple of kids? Are their other strategies??? Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have yet to do the baby swap thing but we have a large family too. Our kids will be 7,5,5 and 7 mos on our next trip, we have similar families! From what I understand, one parent rides with the other people in the family and I thought I read someplace that when the second parent rides up to three others can ride along. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Wow!! We do have similiar families!!! Both have twins in the middle!!! Only difference our newest addition was another boy and you had a girl!!

Hopefully what you said about line swapping is true. Can someone else shed some light on this topic for us??

I'm a little confused. If one parent takes a couple of kids and one parent takes the other couple of kids, then why aren't you just all going on the ride at the same time?

If you mean you'd both like to ride a roller coaster with your oldest child, then parent 1 takes a turn with oldest child while parent 2 waits with younger children. When the ride is over, parent 2 and oldest child ride while parent 1 waits with younger children.

I understand what you are saying...........but on the rides where our 10 month old would not ride but eveyone else would................can one parent take, lets say the 8 year old, and then swap with the other parent and the twins?

Sure, that would work fine. I'm just trying to think of what rides wouldn't really work for you to take the baby on. Maybe something like Buzz Lightyear.

You could probably also have some rides where a parent and all three older kids could ride, then swap so the other parent could ride with the three kids again.

Anyway, they are very accomodating, so the cast member at the ride will know exactly what you need to do - just ask before you get in a line!!!

Thanks for your help Liz!! The things you suggested, can you do that will FASTPASS? Like Buzz Lightyear.......one parent three kids.......swap......other parent three kids??

Yes you can do kid-line-swapping with Fastpass. Everyone riding must have a Fastpass.

On some rides the persons not riding must wait outside. They will be given back their Fastpasses or given a voucher similar to a Fastpass to enter with when the persons riding come out.

Depending on the arrangement of the seats in the ride vehicle when the second group gets on, one or more members of the first group may get to ride again.

I believe the swap only allows for 3 people in total to return... IE. parent and two kids. If that is the case then what you will need to do is 1 parent 1 kid followed by the other parent with 2 kids.

Baby swap varies at each ride. The best thing to do is ask the CM at the entrance to each ride.

Some rides will give you a special kind of fastpass that is good all day for up to 3 people total.

Some rides you all go in line together and swap at the ride and some rides you swap at the exit.

At both ToT and Splash Mountain, they measured my DD who was just 5 last year and because she was tall enough (but just too chicken) to ride, they did not give us the special baby swap Fastpass, but made us all go in the line together to swap at the ride itself.

Also, decide which rides you want to do Fastpass and get those too. Then go and ask the CM how they handle babyswap and go from there!

Have fun!
