Four Character Meals: Overkill?

In May will be our forth trip and we have 4 character meals planned for 7 days. We average 4 a trip. I love them.
The food is wonderful at the Donald Duck on at AK, it's one of my favorites.

Four character meals is definately not too many! If that is how many you would like to do :thumbsup2

We are booking 14 character meals on our next trip :rotfl2: Gosh  looking at that number it sounds a lot. But we are there for 21 nights, do 3 TS meals a day, so 14 out of 63 meals is not much and we do love character dining

So I say if you and your family enjoy them then go for it. Thats what makes WDW so wonderful as there something for everybody.

We love character meals, so I'd vote definitely not!

And I would completely keep Donald's Breakfast. It's practically one of the only places that you can find Daisy Duck without standing in a huuuuuge looooong line. We learned that one the hard way, lol. (if both your kids are boys, it may not matter to you as much on that)

On Toy Story - I completely agree! They definitely need a Toy Story character meal. And a PIRATE one, too!!!!

They should put the Toy Story one at DHS and the pirate one at MK near the Pirate makeover league. Or they could build a much needed 2nd sit-down table restaurant at CBR with a pirate character breakfast over on the Trindad South side near the pirate rooms. :) :)

You can never do too many character meals! I have pictures from when my girls were smaller, and I have to say these are some of my most cherish moments at Disney. My oldest is now in High School, and she still ask to go to these character meals! They especially love the Aukerhaus, and Grand Floridian, they get such a kick out of the bad mean sisters, and the evil step-mother. The people who play the characters there are so funny, and they really play the parts up, even Grandma loves that one.

We schedule a character dining event almost every day!:lovestruc

Excellent ideas, perhaps a word to Disney is due here.:thumbsup2

Is four too many? My kids are 3 and 6 and I've booked Chef Mickey, Akershus, Crystal Palace and Donald's Safari Breakfast. If I cancelled one it would be Donald's, as it and CM feature the same characters, and the timing is that CM is the only thing I've scheduled for our first day. If I cancelled it I'd replace it with Yak and Yeti for lunch.

Thoughts?

I have two cm's scheduled for our granddaughter. One was by mistake. I am afraid DGD(2 and a half) will not eat as she will either be shy, scared, distracted or the combination of each. For us one would have been plenty. We go in three weeks and can't wait. I

Okay, 4 is pretty low IMO. We have no kids, and my DW and I have 1900 PF x2, Ohana, GG, CP, CM, Akershus, and Tusker house booked for our trip in May. My wife has UC and we found the buffet type meal selections better for her to eat. Plus the charaters add a little extra to the experience.

You know, the more I read about how busy it is this week the happier I am about our character meals. It sounds like lining up for characters is NOT something we're going to want to do!

We will be there for 10 days and booked a characted meal every other day. We also booked The Fantasmic Package and T-Rex. There will be very Little relaxing at dinner!!! We did plan one quiet dinner for two at Le Cellier.

No it's not overkill, you picked such varying restaurants and characters. If you said we are going to CM twice and then this one and this one and this one, then yea, but not with all the varying characters and styles of food. I totally agree on the Toy Story meal, wouldn't be surprised if we see one soon though with the Pixar Park and Toy Story 3 coming out

We went last September for 7 nights, 8 days. I have a DS who was 8 (just shy of 9 at the time), a DD 7 and a DD 3 1/2. We ate the following character meals during the trip:

1900 Parke Faire Dinner
Crystal Palace Dinner
Chef Mickey Dinner
O'Hana Best Friends Breakfast
The DD's and I did CRT Breakfast
Arkeshus Dinner

The only non-characters dinners we did were O'Hana, Kona and Cape May Cafe dinner.

We did Cape May towards the end of the trip, and that was the one night my kids did not behave so well at dinner. Very antsy, I just looked at my husband and said "NO Characters, they're bored". So, no I don't think it is overkill. However, all the buffet eating does gets tiring after awhile.

I think you have a nice line-up, so relax and enjoy, they're only little once and before you know it, they will have no interest in character meals. Plus, it saves lots of time in the parks waiting to meet characters!

We did one every day when we went last time. My 2 boys loved it! This time we will be there 6 days and we have 5 planned. LIke someone else said, enjoy it while they are little.
