Four Brits hit the world the TR! ***Finished***

Jo, End of August huh? No wonder I did not make it as I did not check in until September 9th. lol There was another group in Sept that had a Grand Gathering at the Poly/O'Hana's and was going to meet on the beach afterward so I have not gone completely insane. :rotfl:

I had wanted to question you about the 'mad' comment as well but then I remembered "mad dogs and Englishmen' and the hot weather and decided that it might be both.

As far as my TR goes. If you had found it I would have been very worried cause it still resides on the C drive of my computer cause I have not edited it nor added pics yet. Maybe I will post a first installment tomorrow or Sunday. I have done all the hard work but it does not begin to compare to yours. Mine is useful to the decrepit who need instruction on how to survive at DW when at an advanced age and in p poor health. :rotfl2: I thought I should get it done before the next trip though.

About wore out and ready to go to bed with dreams of Disney dancing in my head. SG/Linda

Of course, because you're so very proper. ;) WHAT was I thinking?
Of course I am :rotfl2:

Nope, pretty sure it's all the time.
Awww you're so sweet

I really will try. D is often telling me to do more things for myself. I'm not sure he meant a weekend in Florida, but...
Oh I'm sure that is what he meant, it would be great if you came :yay:

Oh, you have to, you have to....it's going to be alot of fun
It is, it is :goodvibes

:worship: We are not worthy, drinking the Poly put of pineapples! Sounds and looks like it was a fun meet! :goodvibes
:rotfl2: It was a ton of fun Jenny even if I didn't help with the Lapu's :rotfl2:

Mad? Mad as in  or mad as in :crazy2: ?? :lmao:
Oh definitely :crazy2: :rotfl2:

Guilty? Nah! You gave the kids tons of "sweetie"! Their dentist thanks you! :lmao: BTW - that darn Waldo ate my chocolate orange!
Thanks and what  that Waldo :sad2: Did he like it though? :rotfl2:

Yeah, you're getting a Lapu next year or whatever the "theme" drink is next August.
:rotfl2:

I love how this pic looks like LL finished all those off!
She did didn't she? :rotfl2:

Really? I don't remember him actually coming in the restaurant - but I do remember everywhere we turned there he was, watching you (us)!
No really it was only that once because they then went and sat downstairs! You must have been seeing things :rotfl2:

I didn't either! My was pinched, 'member?
Oh yeah :sad2:

I knew if I finished that bad boy - it would be all over - no pun intended.
:rotfl2: You were looking slightly green!

Wait, I don't remember this? Did the rest of us see the EWP?
No as you all went by bus so don't worry!

August '08 :woohoo: A weekend not to be missed!
It sure will be :thumbsup2

We were waiting till all were present. ;)
:rotfl2:

Was it you I said something to abotu that? I remember saying we really didn't need to see the desserts, as we all had the entire menu memorized!
I really don't know, told you my memory was bad :rotfl2:

Silly Jo! We LOVED our sweets - it was a wonderful surprise!
Thanks, I loved all my goodies too

Er... I had a Lapu Lapu.
Of course :rotfl2:

And, really, even if we were - does anyone think we could have properly aimed an axe?!
Good point :rotfl2:

One word..... PHEW!!!!!
:rotfl2:

Does Jo like beer?!
:sad2: I'm a crap drinking partner

Awesome DIS Meet! What a hoot!

This totally cracked me up when I saw it.
It was fun Buzz and yeah that photo is great isn't it :rotfl2:

great update and pics. Those drinks look good. I just keep reading about this night on here. I actually feel like I was there now.
Thanks Scott and only 1 more account of that night to come from S'Late if she ever gets writing :rolleyes1 LY K

Jo, End of August huh? No wonder I did not make it as I did not check in until September 9th. lol There was another group in Sept that had a Grand Gathering at the Poly/O'Hana's and was going to meet on the beach afterward so I have not gone completely insane.
:rotfl2: And make sure you link us when you get your TR up :thumbsup2

Wooooooo Hoooooooooo!!! It's not even December!!!:yay:

OK I really don’t know how to write this next bit, this evening has already been written about several times by such fantastic writers so if you want the funny versions check out these links!!!! Also thanks girls I pinched some of your photos!!!!

Tracy's part 1

Tracy's part 2

V's

LL's

How cool to put those links in here!! You're always thinking Jo!!

We arrived safely (haven’t been murdered yet ;))
:rotfl2: :lmao:

T quickly checked us in and we found LL and V by the bar already drinking :rolleyes1

And so the finger pointing begins....pirate:

We were sat at a nice big round table in the GASP centre of the room, OMG do they not realise they should hide us all in the corner

That was so funny wasn't it? I couldn't believe it...right in the middle of everything. You'd think that they'd have had a sense about us when we walked in, but nope. Right in the center of the room!

Our waiter came and took our drinks order, ummm what do they order do you think? Yep Lapu’s all round, well except me I’d heard they have coconut (which now I’m told they don’t) in which I don’t like! But as I’m such a lightweight with alcohol I just got a pink lemonade, sorry girls I know I was a let down, but hey someone needed to keep an eye on you all :lmao:

I think David got to you..."Don't drink alcohol...you want to keep your senses about you amongst these strangers!!":lmao:

So soon our table was festooned with the first batch of those pretty pineapples, we were on a mission. You see many months previous when we were planning this little get together T typed that she would buy someone 21 Lapu’s instead of 2 and we never let her live it down and that was tonight’s goal 21 empty pineapples and with me not drinking them, well that was a lot of Lapu’s each :rotfl:

LY T but you'll never live down the 21 Lapu salute!!

well I’m obviously more lady like ;) :rotfl2:

Obviously! :snooty:

LY!

I do know that the pineapples were now empty so more were ordered, we (I mean they) were making a good start!!!!

Tracyswdwpics111.jpg

Tracyswdwpics104.jpg

Great pics! I didn't know you had a camera....:rolleyes1

We were all having such a fun time, can’t remember WTH we spoke about but there were tons of laughs and strangely those laughs got louder and louder, not sure why :confused3

Hmmm....wonder why that was....:rolleyes1

At one point S’Late showed us her party trick of tying a cherry stem into a knot and wow it was a really cool trick that everyone had to have a go too. We were getting some very strange looks by now!!!

Tracyswdwpics107.jpg

Tracyswdwpics108.jpg

That was so funny!! Those are some mad skillz, S'late!! :thumbsup2 I wish someone had pictures of V attempting this...OMG - those were some priceless faces she was making trying to do that! LY V!!

I think about now there were cry’s of empty Lapu’s, not sure who from  :rotfl:

646.jpg

Hmmmm....now why would you say that and then post a picture of me????:confused3
(and my un-ladylike eating!!)

Dessert time now and I had the oh so yummy white chocolate cheesecake, not sure what the others had they were too busy emptying pineapples

I'm not sure what I had either...:rolleyes1

Oh at some point my darling husband, who I think by now had worked out that these crazy ladies weren’t axe murderers, came into the Poly, see he didn’t want me walking back to our CSR room alone late at night so he was going to wait to escort me home

Awwww...does he do that kind of stuff all the time, or just when you travel half-way round the world to get drunk with strangers you met on the internet???:rotfl:

But David being David he just kinda sneaked in gave me my camera and vanished again, so LL yes he was there

AH HA!! I KNEW I saw him!! He was doing a poor job of stalking the stalkers...he was everywhere, hiding in plain sight!

The girls were now asking for more drinks and the Poly had run out of pineapples, I know how? And more importantly how on earth would we get to our 21 goal???? They had literally drunk the poly dry of pineapples. How’d that happen? Didn’t they know our aim for the night????

:sad2: That's got to be one for the Poly record books...running dry of pineapples...

Let's just hope Mexico doesn't run out of margarita salt....:rolleyes1

Or that Germany doesn't run out of weiner salad:scared:

Our poor waiter was getting it from all sides about the pineapples, there were suggestions of pitchers so they could be refilled but apparently that would be unsanitary  surely if you filled your own pineapple and only you drunk it then it would be fine??? Eventually the manager came out,

I still get the giggles thinking about this night!! It seemed so simple to me...don't know why it was such a big deal to refill my own pineapple...should I have been worried as to what was in there in the first place???

whilst all this was going on a lady at a nearby table was really staring at us and the pineapples so LL turned around and gave her a big old wave, OMG I nearly died, I think she was just jealous, sheesh we weren’t being rude or anything just being happy!

 Yep - a big old wave!! :lmao: That appeared to just make her crabbier!

At this point T decides if she has anymore Lapu she would definitely keel over so she ummm watered the plants with it and swore me to secrecy which I totally kept till she blabbed on her TR

:scared1: BLATANT alcohol abuse!! She's lucky I didn't see that!!:rotfl: She'd have never lived that down either!

I then hear a lovely English accent asking if I was DisneyJo and it was Claire (Fizz13) she was also with Michelle and Carly who had come to watch the fireworks, unfortunately Carly was feeling really unwell so they couldn’t stay :sad2: It was really nice meeting you girls even though it was very brief and I hope Carly soon felt better! I had to get Claire to meet LL though as they had become quite friendly on LL’s TR so we braved it outside and took these!

100_5371.jpg

647.jpg

648.jpg

I was so glad we got to meet Claire! She was a sweetheart! Too bad we missed out on meeting all the other DIS'ers that were supposed to be around that night. Especially Tasha! I still can't believe we all didn't see each other!!

It was still chucking it down

No matter how many times I hear this it still makes me giggle!!

so we just stood and chatted undercover near some stairs, again I really can’t remember what we talked about but just remember lots of laughter especially when a little frog decided to go in the Poly via the automatic doors.

OMG - I'd initially forgotten about that frog...that was pretty funny!

At some point David and the girls joined us, I assume they’d gotten fed up playing their DS’s,
Ok, this is the 2nd time I've seen this (DS)...what is it??

again there was much laughter mainly about the men’s golf that morning

And my husband's super-expensive balls...

oh and I’m sure a certain DISer (LL) was flirting with my hubbie  She kept doing something very strange with her straw :rotfl2: LY/MI LL

OMG - CUT IT OUT!! :scared1:

I was NOT! Yes, I was chewing on my straw...a smoker, wait - make that a slightly intoxicated smoker trying to be considerate with a bunch of non-smokers around equals nervous-nicotine-craving-induced straw chewing!!

:sad2:

Before long it was time for the party to end, we saw a boat about to leave for the MK and jumped on after lots of hugs goodbye. It was a beautiful ride and we had to stop for this to pass!

673.jpg

674.jpg

It was so neat to watch the water parade, especially out on the water with the boat to ourselves,

You were so lucky to catch it from the boat!! Great pictures!

Endnote……

It was so great to meet up with such wonderful people it was so great that 5 strangers, who had only communicated via the web, just acted like long lost friends, I’m so pleased we arranged this meet and I can’t wait till August for the reunion with the chance to meet lots more of you too And you all needn’t have worried about me remembering outrageous stuff you’d done because I think you all remembered more than me :rotfl2:

LY2 Jo!!! Can't wait to see you again!!!

And thank you, for not remembering more than we did!!!:rotfl:

Ladies, I hate to tell you this but getting the middle table is not always a sign of social standing. As a teacher I can tell you that the troublemakers are always kept where we can see them. :rotfl:

Jo, right now I am working on getting myself up and running and then later I will consider getting at least part of my TR in the same position.

Umm, tying a cherry stem with your tongue? Nope, I am nowhere where that talented.

Slightly Goofy/Linda

Wooooooo Hoooooooooo!!! It's not even December!!!:yay:
LL there was so much I was going to quote but I would have just been posting :rotfl2: at each reply :rotfl2:

So are you saying my DH isn't fanciable then  ;) :rotfl2:

Oh and DS's are Nintendo DS the new version of a Gameboy, does Michael not want one yet? he will soon :rotfl2:

Ladies, I hate to tell you this but getting the middle table is not always a sign of social standing. As a teacher I can tell you that the troublemakers are always kept where we can see them. :rotfl:
So are you saying we were trouble? Not us? :rotfl2:

OK I really don’t know how to write this next bit, this evening has already been written about several times by such fantastic writers so if you want the funny versions check out these links!!!! Also thanks girls I pinched some of your photos!!!!
Oh you are just as funny with all that British hoity toity! ;)

We arrived safely (haven’t been murdered yet ;)) at the Poly and OMG I think the whole of WDW were there that night the place was heaving!
I would take this as the place was throwing up ...

Now the bit where I felt really guilty, everyone had brought such gorgeous presents for each other, literally big bulging gift bags, except me I gave them a chocolate orange :rotfl2: Ladies thank you so much for my very unexpected pressies and please warn me if you’re going to do it again!!!!!
Oh totally been there! Lovely Blue had to get my family gifts and I bought her a drink ... :rolleyes1

We all ordered, I know I had the sticky wings for appetiser and LL thought it was so funny that I ate them with a knife and fork rather than just pick them up like she did, well I’m obviously more lady like ;) :rotfl2:
Seriously? You ate sticky wings with a knife and fork. Girl ~ you are supposed to suck them bones to get all the meat off!!!!

Somewhere around now T’s mobile went off and it was DM (Disneyolic) phoning from NY the phone was soon passed to me and it was so great to hear her voice, even though it was a funny old conversation as it was so loud and I couldn’t hear her very well, maybe that’s why I couldn’t really hear an accent ;) Anyway it was great another DISer could share our night!
Woohoo! And I could barely hear you with all that drunken chatter in the background. I think I just agreed with whatever you told me and hope that I didn't agree to anything bad later ... I think that I did get caught later when you told me that you weren't drinking that night and I never heard you. Oh well!

At this point T decides if she has anymore Lapu she would definitely keel over so she ummm watered the plants with it and swore me to secrecy which I totally kept till she blabbed on her TR :lmao:
And now we all know that we can totally trust dear old Jo.

I’m sure a certain DISer (LL) was flirting with my hubbie  She kept doing something very strange with her straw :rotfl2: LY/MI LL
and what would that strange thing be? I want to know. Plus, I think I would be flirty with David too once I heard his accent! Rowr!

Yeah, it's not December and we get Jo's account of what happened that night!

AWW, David is really a good guy, how sweet!

Great update and I can't wait to be part of this year's Focker meet!

Yay! :dance3: I just loved your version of the big Poly Meet! :yay: (I would multi-quote, but my fingers are numb from being outside all day putting up Christmas lights!) What an awesome night for all of you. Jo, I'm sure you had just as much fun as everyone else, even though you didn't claim any of the pineapples as your own! :rolleyes1 Next year should be even better! :goodvibes

I find it hard to believe that the group of you were anything other than quiet and ladylike!:rolleyes1

Jo! You made it to the Lapu meet before December! :cheer2:

I love reading about the Lapu meet, you guys sound like you all had so much fun. :goodvibes

I so can't wait 'til Margaritafest '08. :flower3:

And Jo you are so drinking something at that one!

Oh you are just as funny with all that British hoity toity! ;) Thanks I think :rotfl2:

I would take this as the place was throwing up ... :rotfl2:

Oh totally been there! Lovely Blue had to get my family gifts and I bought her a drink ... :rolleyes1 Well they could of warned me!!!!

Seriously? You ate sticky wings with a knife and fork. Girl ~ you are supposed to suck them bones to get all the meat off!!!! Ummm not lady like ;)

Woohoo! And I could barely hear you with all that drunken chatter in the background. I think I just agreed with whatever you told me and hope that I didn't agree to anything bad later ... I think that I did get caught later when you told me that you weren't drinking that night and I never heard you. Oh well! I really couldn't hear you that well either, but it was good to chat a little!

And now we all know that we can totally trust dear old Jo. Awww thanks, so any secrets? :rotfl2:

and what would that strange thing be? I want to know. Plus, I think I would be flirty with David too once I heard his accent! Rowr! :rotfl2:
I pinched your green DM :rotfl2:

Yeah, it's not December and we get Jo's account of what happened that night! I couldn't leave you all hanging could I!!!!

AWW, David is really a good guy, how sweet! Thanks, he is definitely a keeper :goodvibes

Great update and I can't wait to be part of this year's Focker meet!
Can't wait to meet you too Mo :)

am not sure how to post links but I finally posted a beginning Trip Report and here is where it is, I think. It is just the before stuff. I hope to post the beginning of the actual trip with lots of pics tomorrow.
I've subbed Linda, catch up soon :thumbsup2

Whoops! I got two posts for the price of one! LOL! :rotfl:
You greedy thing you :rotfl2:

Yay! I just loved your version of the big Poly Meet! (I would multi-quote, but my fingers are numb from being outside all day putting up Christmas lights!) What an awesome night for all of you. Jo, I'm sure you had just as much fun as everyone else, even though you didn't claim any of the pineapples as your own! :rolleyes1 Next year should be even better!
It was a great night Michelle and really you don't need alcohol to have fun and the bonus is no hangover :rotfl2:

I find it hard to believe that the group of you were anything other than quiet and ladylike!:rolleyes1
What are you saying Cherie? :rolleyes1

Jo! You made it to the Lapu meet before December! Who would have thought it hey! :rotfl2:

I so can't wait 'til Margaritafest '08. Are you definitely coming :yay:

And Jo you are so drinking something at that one! If you say so :rolleyes1

Sorry for my lazy quoting today :rotfl:

Today was meant to be a nice lazy day, catching up on our favourite rides at Epcot before meeting S’Late and her family for a meal at MGM. That was until we decided to meet T, LL and V at MK for LOEMH at *gasp* 8am :faint:

We struggled to wake up but the girls had really fallen in love with T’s DD Maddie and so wanted to see her one more time, so they were up and ready before me today!!!

We missed the 8am opening but only by 5 minutes so not too bad, as we wandered down Main Street we saw T’s parents TE and Waldo trying to get into the Main Street Bakery, it was closed though and the whole of Main Street could hear them rattling the doors :rotfl2:

I thought our best bet of finding T and family was to check out Dumbo and :yay: I was right and they were already flying!

The girls soon got reacquainted and found some characters.

678.jpg

680.jpg

The LOEMH’s were really great the characters were out in force playing games with all the kids, mine didn’t join in though as I told them it was for the little ones!

Sometime around now T got a call to say that V and LL had arrived, I was really surprised to see that LL’s DH and DS weren’t there, apparently they were still asleep!!!! Oh well their loss, it did mean that I never got to meet the famous Tony and see his neck craning for myself though :rotfl2:

We now hit a couple of rides, Pooh first followed by PP, it was so sweet as on both rides the 3 girls rode together, Jess and Ellie sandwiching Maddie in the middle of them :cutie:

After PP we asked Evan if he wanted to chose a ride, big mistake, he dragged us all on IASW  I think this was where Leo decided he wanted to do SW so we split up for a while. This time Jess and Maddies sat together.

681.jpg

682.jpg

So cute!

It was now nearing 9am and we desperately wanted to get some more rides on TT done as today was our last park day, so after lots of hugs we said goodbye to the DisneyLandMama family vowing we would meet again. T phoned LL to find they were on IASW so we waited a few minutes so we could say bye to them too.

683.jpg

We agreed to meet up for again August 09!!!!!

We made our way out of MK and you know what we weren’t sad at all, we had spent so much time here in the last 2 weeks, had many happy memories and we knew we’d be back one day, plus Epcot was calling :rotfl:

whoa was that minnie in the background?! My dad mentioned when we were there in May how the characters are never out in the open anymore like they were when I was little (22 now). I'm surprised to see her out in the open like that taking pictures!! Looks like you had a ton of fun!

That was until we decided to meet T, LL and V at MK for LOEMH at *gasp* 8am :faint:

You people are nuts. :rotfl:

Jo said:

:rotfl2: Oh, Waldo.

it did mean that I never got to meet the famous Tony and see his neck craning for myself though :rotfl2:
Darn! :lmao:

It's good that you weren't sad. I hate leaving MK.

So are you saying my DH isn't fanciable then  ;) :rotfl2:

Ummmm....noooooo....I'm not saying that...man, how do I get myself into these things????:confused3 All I was doing was chewing a straw, people!!!:headache:

Oh and DS's are Nintendo DS the new version of a Gameboy, does Michael not want one yet? he will soon

Oooohhhh....ok, now I get it. Michael would love video games...Tony won't let him have any. It's the one thing he decided wayyyy back when the little guy was still a baby. No video games.:confused3 So Michael, in his infinite wise-guy-ness says he's going to buy his own video games when he's 18 and moves out and allowed to do what he wants:rotfl:

Seriously? You ate sticky wings with a knife and fork. Girl ~ you are supposed to suck them bones to get all the meat off!!!!

Yep...she daintily ate them with a knife and fork...it was kind of comical watching her try and get the meat off those little tiny sticky wings!!:rotfl2:

and what would that strange thing be? I want to know. Plus, I think I would be flirty with David too once I heard his accent! Rowr!

:confused3 Since when is chewing on a straw flirting??? :confused3

Know what was funny though?? Every time we all started talking about doing this again - the Focker Reunion Tour, if you will, David was doing this thing....he'd put his hand on his forehead, like he had a really bad headache and make a funny kind of painful looking face and run his hand down his face like he was trying to rub away the mere thought of this group setting again!! Hard to describe and I'm so mad at myself that I didn't get a picture, but he did it several times Saturday night and then again at the MK the next morning when we talked (again) about all of us meeting up at WDW again....it was so funny...the reserved British version of Tony's neck craning/arm flailing thing...:lmao:

Today was meant to be a nice lazy day, catching up on our favourite rides at Epcot before meeting S’Late and her family for a meal at MGM. That was until we decided to meet T, LL and V at MK for LOEMH at *gasp* 8am :faint:

:headache: LY T, MI!!

We missed the 8am opening but only by 5 minutes so not too bad, as we wandered down Main Street we saw T’s parents TE and Waldo trying to get into the Main Street Bakery, it was closed though and the whole of Main Street could hear them rattling the doors

OMG - seriously?!?!??! :lmao:

The girls soon got reacquainted and found some characters.

678.jpg

The girls were soooooo good with Maddie...she just adored Jess and Ellie - it was so very sweet!!:cloud9:

The LOEMH’s were really great the characters were out in force playing games with all the kids, mine didn’t join in though as I told them it was for the little ones!

It was really neat to see all the characters out and about, wasn't it? I was so sad Michael wasn't there to enjoy it:sad1:

Sometime around now T got a call to say that V and LL had arrived, I was really surprised to see that LL’s DH and DS weren’t there, apparently they were still asleep!!!! Oh well their loss, it did mean that I never got to meet the famous Tony and see his neck craning for myself though :rotfl2:

I was really disappointed the boys didn't make it up...Tony still hasn't even met V either - which is odd as it feels like I've known V forever!!! Well, there's always next year!!! And weiner salad, apparently...:scared:

It was now nearing 9am and we desperately wanted to get some more rides on TT done as today was our last park day, so after lots of hugs we said goodbye to the DisneyLandMama family vowing we would meet again.

Sniff, sniff....here they come....the goodbyes....

T phoned LL to find they were on IASW so we waited a few minutes so we could say bye to them too.

683.jpg

Who was holding who up? Me or the wall??:rolleyes1

We agreed to meet up for again August 09!!!!!

And David (yet again) did the hand on the forehead thing...:lmao:

We made our way out of MK and you know what we weren’t sad at all,

:confused3 Not even a little bit? See...they couldn't wait to get away from us!!

LY J!!

how absolutely adorable about T's Maddie and your girls, just like their mama's

So this LOEMH, is really worth it huh? I may have to make the sacrifice with Kelly and get my big 'ol butt out of bed one morning.

Now reading how you weren't sad leaving makes me think I need to go for 2 weeks, maybe then I wouldn't go into Disney depression on check out day.;)

So weiner salad huh? Well, I am actually eating there in February, already have the ADR. Any special recognizance you need me all to do?
