sunday, November 13: When is your next trip to a Disney Park? We hope you have plans to visit Disneyland Resort in California or Walt Disney World in Florida; the question is, how soon are you going? Choose the shirt that most closely matches your plans; if you don't have a trip planned within the next 12 months, choose the 12+ month vote. Be sure to let us know if this will be your first trip (short sleeves) or not (long sleeves).

HELLO!!!! i bet if i asked i would be banned. who comes up with this stuff?

Due to my location it is almost impossible to get there, so I'll probably be honest and say the 12+ thing, and then get inulted. This is a really lame advertising ploy, either that or a test to see if it's working.

The little man inside my head (not the one telling me to do fun stuff, the other one lol) is telling me that perhaps, just perhaps, if we all want to see vmk continue on well into the future, then we should all wear the clothing that makes the powers that be at least "think" we are all coming to a park soon, even if we are not. Something tells me that if they see a substantial amount of players of their "free game" have no plans on coming to a park anytime soon, that may spell some bad mojo down the line.

Just something to ponder. :confused3

Oh Mike, you cynic you! :rotfl2:

Note to self: Choose the shirt that shows I have a trip planned really, really soon! ;)

oh, and am i the only one worried about the sure to happen 900+ people line?

You really make me laugh Mike!!
My DD told me that we have to buy ONE of each so that when we get close to our next trip we can use them to 'count down'.
Gotta love kids.

Mike,I feel the same way.*If* they want this advertising campaign is working they will give us more so we stay interested and give more stuff. But,if we don't act interested in WDW they will close vmk down. So,lets all fake that were going to WDW or DLR so vmk gives us more nice stuff.

I agree with Mike. That's what I think this is all about. They want to have an idea if the "game" is working as an advertisement.

I find it interesting how vmk sort of "draws the line" on us. I mean, they say here is a vote "chose which NPC you like better, then chose which game you like better." and then finally, "Are we good advertisment?" LOL it is a survey in terms that younger kids can understand. lol. Obviously that much is known considering the amount of posts before this one stating almost the exact same thing! LOL.

If you think about it -this is an easy way of getting an idea of how many people out there are playing. I know as a parent (if I weren't a participant myself) if my child had listed my email to open their account and I had received the recent survey they mailed out- I would have deleted it as spam- that survey was all about are you going to DL or WDW etc...

Since the game is "for kids 8-14" this is a simple way for them to get some information. Of course I could tell you that my 8 yo wouldn't be able to determine when our next trip would be lol and will need help when she goes to vote- I'm just hoping they don't make the vote cost too much- since many of the kids will not have the funds to do that and get the new hats- BUt the voting method is a simple format for the kids to pick and vote- we use stickers in Girl scouts- girls stick a sticker on one page if they liked it another if they didn't- simple, straighforward, and not a lot of room for creative interpretation. Of course if we are all going to influence the vote a bit ourselves I don't know how valid it would be- but really maybe they ought to be going by number of quest visitors they have or tour participants- I know some of us bring along non-vmkers (or send them like I will be doing soon :D) but really does anyone else take that tour? Is it just for quests and VMKers or is it open to anyone who happens to register at the right time?

I also thought about the mule factor and is that what they are wanting to identify too- how many are legitimate characters, how many were created just for credits, or how many characters out there were created- game tried and abandoned? THis is by no means a scientific poll and really although it may make them look good to be able to say = hey look this many people said they'd be visiting in a year= wouldn't the real numbers speak for themselves a year down the road?

At least this event isn't a single room event again- maybe they listened that much to the complaints that were made. I do wish they's spread the purchasing around though. Use Ned's, Small World, Star Traders, and Golden Horse Shoe in addition to the Emporium for the "voting" That way no one store would be over loaded with people at all times- but they do seem to have more "instances" of the Emporium than others to handle the crowds... at least the waits won't be as long as the game rooms.

I have a feeling that you might be right, remember the survey from a couple of weeks ago. It's focus seemed to be to determine if VMK translates into increased visits to Disney parks. It would seem they are trying to evaluate the effectiveness of VMK (from a marketing stand point) and are not sure of the metrics to use.
