Found photos of epcot construction from 8?

I think I may have been 6 or 7 when my parents took me to WDW (the early 80's can't remember the exact date). I faintly remember the trip. My mom was going thru some photo albums and pulled out a picture of spaceship earth only half built. The bottom half of the shell was built and it was empty inside. It seems we were allowed to ride in front car or the mk monorail and my dad (slick tounged devil) somehow got us a ride on the epcot monorail line. It had just been finished and being tested (was closed to the public) and we got to ride thru and see the construction of epcot. I'm gonna try to scan and post the pictures tomorrow. I wish I could remeber more but at least I have the photos.

My DW and I went in May 1982 and were able to take a monorail ride around EPCOT. It opened in October 1982 so it was mostly complete and they were doing the finishing touches. We stayed at the Traveleodge (Now the Grovsnor) and were able to see the Spaceship Earth lite up at night from our room.

I remember eating breakfast at the "Top of the World" resteraunt (now the California Grill) and seeing the geosphere under construction. It was exciting knowing that there was going to be TWO parks!

I remember seeing the shell of a giant ball sooo far away. We were amazed at how big it was. I think we went back two years later and visited EPCOT for the first time.

I have always wished that there was some sort of video that was made about the "creation" of Spaceship Earth. I would love to see how it was made !!
