My dad is recently retired but is the sort of person that can't sit at home. So he went cruising the internet for jobs to do. He found a company called Certified Field Associates/Market Force. Anyway, some are jobs to do like secret shops and others are things like going to the movies and writing down what trailers are played before a movie starts, setting up P.O.P for stores, removing recalled products, and such. These jobs, for the most part, don't cost money to do. I refuse to pay to get money back, he will. Like we are eating Papa John's pizza for lunch tomorrow because the are going to pay him $23 to order a pizza plus reimbursement for the pizza. I was very skeptical at first since it seems like the pay high but he has been doing this for about two months and has been paid in full for every job he has done. They pay direct deposit and it says 4-6 weeks but has been more like 3 for him.
I just picked up my first five jobs to shop a CVS in my area and record the prices they have on the shelves for certain items. It says it should take about 15 minutes and will pay me $10 each. Since I know lots of people are always looking for a way to make a little extra, I thought I would share.

I joined marketforce a few months ago. There aren't that many mystery shops in my area, but I have been able to do a few and add to my vacation fund.

My favorite one was to deposit money into my own account, and report the teller's interactions. I got $30 for that one!

LOL...My dad got paid $75 to go ask about opening an account at Bank of America. It took him all of 20 mins to do too. So I decided to jump on the band wagon and make me few dollars too!

There are some people who make money mystery shopping, depends on where you live and if you spend a lot of time on the computer so you can jump on a job as soon as it comes up. My wife was making maybe $100/yr doing it. They keep lowering the payouts so fewer and fewer jobs are even worth her time.

My favorite was going and test driving a new jeep. I think they paid me $100.00 for that one.

Were any of you leery of entering your SS#?

I've registered with a couple of mystery shopping sites, and yes, I don't like giving out my SSN. But they are required to have your SSN for tax reporting, so you either give them the number or you don't shop.

There will always be a risk of someone trying to hack into personnel records - that's true for your "day job" employer's records, too.

That's where I stopped too! I don't give my SSN# to anyone over the internet. Especially if you are just registering and haven't done an assignment yet.:confused3

I did some mystery shopping when I was unemployed with A Closer Look. I don't have the time now but they send out shops nearly every day.

I have been shopping for Market Force for going on four years now. Don't do a lot because I have a full time job but every once in awhile they will call with an "immediate need" and offer more money then printed online. Actually today I got a check in the mail for $59 for a McDonalds that was needed to be done within the next four hours.

I actually got my check from MarketForce today.

Initially, I also stopped my application when I saw I had to give out my SSN. They actually sent me an email about my concerns. I later decided to go through with my application, but of course, I'm still wary and watching out for anything suspicious.

My friend has recently gotten into Direct Media Advertising. She tells me Direct Media Advertising is the new and booming form of advertising. At first I was skeptical, but then her money really started showing. She was able to pay off her mortgage and get a new Camry.

Yeah, right :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I made 100.00 today (well actually 101) plus dinner and four stocking stuffers reimbursed. I have been shopping for over ten years now and find it to be an excellent source of income for myself.

Is this for real? I always thought the whole idea of "mystery shopping" was one of those too good to be true things....I thought they were all scams. I looked at the Market Force website and at the Closer Look one. The Closer Look website doesn't have anywhere that you can "apply".

Anyways....I would love to hear more from those of you who do this.

I've been a secret shopper for over 12 years. Secret Shopping can be fun, but it's also work. After you do the assignment, then you have to fill out the report. Some reports can literally take hours to fill out. The other week, I spent 4 hours filling out a report for a shop. That is not the norm, it was a higher end shop. But, even some of the "simple" shops have a form that can take a long time to fill out. My point is that secret shopping isn't just a fun thing to do, it's a real job that can be fun. It can also be a pain if you do a shop and then the company you are shopping for decides they don't like something on your report and then they decide not to pay you. That's frustrating when you know you filled the report out accurately.

I applied too and so we'll see .... ???
