Yes, it bother me. Sure I slip up occassionally too in extreme situations. I even at one point in my career said something to my boss about his use of expectives in my presence (talk about shaky job situation LOL). Thank goodness for the offensive situations clause in our employee manual. He understood and tried to make an effort. After all it was very unprofessional. He could not speak a full sentence with a couple F and S words thrown in I always told kids including mine who are now in college, "if you cannot say it in front of your grandmother it must be wrong".

I too work around kids twice a week, and they follow by example. Once I slipped up when I dropped some hot coffee in front of the kids. I apoligized to them and told them how wrong I was. I think some of parents were impressed that I made the effort.

If it is said to make a point and to be emphatic..I dont have a problem with it.

When it is every other word, the person just sounds unitelligent and that bothers me.

what she said :D

Maybe if we were to preface any swearing with "as they used to say back in 1308...(insert word here)" we'd all sound more intelligent;)

Glad to see I'm not the only one who is disturbed when the Lord's name is used profanely.

Vulgarities like the "f" "s" and "b" words don't bother me except when they're used in conjunction with the Lord's name.

It's disrespectful and sinful IMHO.

I do not use such words in front of children though. My Mom ahd a mouth on her when we were growing up lol. My Father never cursed. Kind of weird.

If any of you who gets offended easily - ever walked around my office any day in the summer - you would probably have a stroke!!!

Doesn't bother me at all. I chose not to swear at all until my last child turned 18. And the first time I swore, my oldest turned white and said: "I didn't know that you even KNEW those words."

I started laughing and told him that I had been willing to stop swearing until they were adults, but that I most certainly did know those words and would use them now whenever I felt the need.

I also don't worry about what other people think of me if they should hear me swear in public. I am well aware of what places it is appropriate to swear in and what places it is not. And, as awful as this may sound to some people...I taught my children not to swear in front of me (not silly enough to think they didn't swear when they were NOT in front of me)(smile) by my example. It never even crossed my mind to be offended or upset if adults I didn't know swore around my kids, as I didn't see their behavior having anything to do with how I raised my kids.
