We will be at US/IOA the last week in June. We are staying at the HRH so we will be able to take advantage of FOTL access.

My idea is to head straight for the play areas (Woody's or Fievel's in US and The Olive or Camp Jurassic @ IOA). My thinking is that my kids (5 & 9) will be able to enjoy these areas without the huge crowds because everyone else will be heading straight for the big attractions. It would be fun to have a turn with the water guns etc. without waiting in very long lines.

After about an hour we can then begin to hit the bigger attractions and still won't have to wait more than 10-15 minutes. Does this sound like a feasible plan? Do the playgrounds open the same time as the park or do they open later - which would cancel out my plan:( Also - at such a busy time of year is it realistic to expect to wait no more than 15 minutes or will the wait be longer? There are A LOT of rooms at the 3 on-site hotels.

Thanks!

If your children want to ride Pteradon Flyers, you might want to head there first since they are not included in the express access.
We have been there a couple times during the week of July 4th when it's VERY crowded. The only times we had to wait more than about ten minutes was if there was a technical problem with the ride. Most times it was just about a five minute wait. EXCEPT, last year, we waited about twenty minutes for the Hulk. It's well worth the wait!

Hi - you are right about Pteradon Flyers - there was no FOTL access when we were there last August (I think this is the only ride without FOTL) and the line was always 90 minutes.

We went straight there at opening - and we got to ride it twice in a row without getting off of it - because there was no one waiting :D

I heard that they added FOTL to this ride - but I am not sure that is true.

So I agree with the gschmerl.. head over there for a quick ride on Pteradon Flyers then play at the Dinosaur Centre - that place is fun - hatching eggs, looking for fossils - my daughter loved it.

Also stop by Triceratops Encounter - a surprise awaits one lucky (or not so lucky :D ) kid.

Due to it's extremely LOW capacity, P-Flyers does not have express. You'll have to do the early thing as mentioned above.
