FOTL needed early August?

We usually go at the end of August and haven't had long waits. This year we are going for two days around August 10 and can't decide between staying offsite and braving the lines or staying onsite with the free FOTL but much pricier room. How bad is early August? Thanks!

If you can definitely stay onsite at one of three hotels with EP. It'll be worth it.

Here now and it feels more crowded than this same time 2 years ago. I just said to DH yesterday that when we come back I'll book at least one night to get Fotl because there's just too much to see and do now to waste time in line !!

it's still summer vacation time for many.
crowds don't ease up to later in august.
