Hi All,

We will be staying onsite (PB), so will have Express passes, for our trip at the end of this month. From what I've read on this board, the only rides that don't take this are Pteradon Flyers and Forbidden Journey. However, I was just looking at the map of US on Universal's website and there is no Express pass icon next to Rip Ride Rockit. Is the FOTL pass accepted there?

Thanks!

Just hit it first thing in the morning at the Studios and it shouldn't be too bad.

I think there is a single rider line though. DD used it when I didn't want to ride this a second time and got through pretty fast.

We were just there on June 17-18 and got there before opening and not sure if this is common or not, but they opened the gates a bit earlier and let us go directly to this ride. We rode it before the "official" opening and then a second time after that with no real wait.

Yes there is, but it is not open all the time unfortunately.

Problem is that we'll be getting to Universal that morning and have to check in at the hotel first, so that we'll have the FOTL pass. So, we probably won't get to Universal until mid-morning. And we have to do US that day because I want to do IOA for WWOHP when we can get there for early entry the next day. So I guess we'll just have to play it by ear and hope the single rider line is open. Might it be less crowded toward the evening? The day we'll be there is Sunday, July 31.

Thanks again!

I guess that's what I would recommend then--play it by ear. If you're willing to close down the park then, yes there's a good chance lines will die off in the last hour or so. That's what happens sometimes over at WWoHP anyway. Just make sure you get there before the queue closes....

The single rider line was closed when we were there 2 wks ago.

We went to IOA at 7am for WW and then went to UO at 8:30am for HRRR.

The single rider line opens and closes throughout the day. They monitor the line and when it gets too long, they close it off to additional park guests. When it gets low again, they open it up.

We had a very similar situation. We arrived on Friday, June 17 from the airport to the Hard Rock at 10:30 am and our room was ready!! What a great suprise that was. We headed up stairs did some minor unpacking and headed out the door. We were at IOA by 11:15 and on the Hulk by 11:30! We did IOA first that day based on some great advice I received here, but had also planned on getting to the park an hour early the next day for HP (which would have been 7 am!). Turns out that wasn't necessary. Not sure if this is normal or just luck but I will give you the short version of our good fortune. At at 1:30 pm we decided just to walk over to the Harry Potter section just to see how crowded it was or if we could get in. I was just so curious to see it. To our amazement it was crowded by not crazy, Dragon Challenge was 5 minute wait! No kidding, I couldn't beleive it. We did experience some technical difficulty for both sides but rode them each with minimal wait. Then we walked around the area going in all the shops, which are too small and were quite crowded. We took tons of pictures and spent lots of time just soaking it all up. After a break at the hotel and dinner we came back at 7 pm that night and FJ was only a 10 minute wait! Again I couldn't beleieve our luck. We rode it twice in a row and again experienced some technical diffiuculty but over all it was quick and easy. We stayed in the area enjoying the nigh time view and went in the shops again. The area is small and we had no problem seeing in all between our afternoon and evening visits. There was actually no need to get up and do the early entry on Saturday, which is why we were able to get on Rip Rocket twice in the early am. We experienced all of HP by "playing it by ear". So I would highly recommend that. Since it was our first time I am not sure if we got lucky or not, but it definately worked out great!

Good Luck and enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

You were there before summer crowds. It is a different story now. It sounds like the first weeks of June were very good crowds but they are crazy again now.

I did think it odd that we were not shoulder to shoulder with people and that we were able to check into our room at 10:30 am! I guess we really got lucky to visit just before the crowds got crazy. I will keep that in mind for next time!

When we were there June 17 - 18 we arrived at the RPR at 6 am to check in and get our room keys for Early Entry and Express Pass. We expected to checked our luggage with Bell Services and head to the parks. Happily, our room was also ready. We quickly took our luggage to our room and then headed to IOA for WWoHP early entry. It was so nice to be able to come back to the resort in the early afternoon for a nap in the a/c and not on the deck chairs by the pool.
