I will be closing this forum in the next few days. The posts will just be moved into the regular community board so we can keep the history.

Thank you!! A suggestion I've had in the past and still want to throw out there is a more generalized board to deal with storms and such. With so many people living in hurricane areas and with the world being the way it is, it would be nice to have a place for people to check in and find and share resources, without it getting buried in the CB. Just a centralized place for this would be great!! Again, thank you!!

I would love to see something like this too, imagine the possibility in how helpful it could be.

I second the vote for a Mother Nature/Emergencies/Disasters/Can't-quite-figure-out-what-it-should-be-called? forum as opposed to maybe another sticky up at the top of the CB. It would be very relevant to have a place already set up for checking-in, seeing what resources are available, etc. when a major event has happened anywhere in the world that DIS-members are concerned with.

The 'Net was a life-saver after Katrina and September 11th, it would be wonderful to continue that tradition here at the DIS.

Alex, will this forum be entirely retired like the threads placed into the "In Memoriam" Forum? In any case, thanks for keeping the posts as opposed to dumping them entirely...it was and is history written as it happened, like a group diary of those days. I think when the history of those days is written, historians will thank The DIS for keeping the posts.
agnes!
PS - Maybe "Emergencies & Disaster-Response Forum"?
