does anyone have any information on the campfire that is held at fortwilderness? I think it's the one with chip and dale (yeah!!!) and they feed you smores'? if anyone has a link for a site or has even done this before, i would love some of your feedback:hyper:
thanks in advance

We did this during our 2000 trip! The kids really enjoyed it. Chip and Dale and a CM come out and lead the group in some songs, then there are two movies. The campfire is there and you can sit on bleachers, wooden benches or bring your own chairs. There is a small wagon that sells the fixins for smores or, I think, hot dogs that you can roast. We got 2 sticks and a bag of marshmallows for about $2.00. It is a nice relaxing way to end the evening during the times the parks close early. I don't know of any links, but you might also post this in the camping forum. The list of movies comes out a month at a time. We got it during check in. You could probably also call FW and ask if you are gong during this month. Any one else have any input??

Oh yes, we loved this event!!! We saw Jungle Book last summer after the Backyard BBQ. It was so much fun. I didn't see C&D but we may have been a little late. There was a funny woman entertaining with her guitar, singing little tunes. We also bought the smore package, very economical. You get a small box of about 8 graham crackers, a small bag of marshmallow (we had plenty!) and chocolate, of course! The menu is here: http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_cw.htm

The camping forum will have more info plus they usually keep a link to the movie list. Here's one that I know of: http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_cw.htm

It's a little confusing getting around but the best way is to take a boat from the MK to FTW then a bus to the campfire area. Here's a link to a map: http://www.disneycampers.com/Fort_Wilderness/FW MAP.htm

Enjoy!

We were at the campgrounds a couple of months ago and they do still have the campfire with chip and dale. the smors are not free. they cost $5.00. Might want to bring your own if you are on a budget.

thank you all so much for your posts! now I can add this to my "plan for list." very excite! one of the rare places we can see chip and dale for a while:wave: thanks again

We did it back in May....and I must admit this...we don't have kids. But, we're kids at heart. I think we were the only couple there without kids, but who cares. It's so fun. They don't really "feed you smores" - you have to buy the smores kit and prepare them but that's half the fun. It's free - it's relaxing and we had a blast. The cast member running the show when we went was named Sundee and she was sooooo good. First thing is she starts the fire. Then, you can make your smores. There are other snacks you can purchase as well - I think even hot dogs.

Then, there's a singalong of songs from the parks and yes, Chip n Dale are there. Afterwards, there is a movie. We didn't stay for the movie but I thoroughly enjoyed this. We were staying at Wilderness Lodge so we walked back on the trail.

What a blast!
