Hi everyone - I mostly post over on the CB, but I do come over here sometimes to read and look at your beautiful pictures. My dad is a longtime amateur photographer, and I just wanted to give y'all a link to a slideshow that he put together of photos he took at Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. What can I say - I'm proud of my dad :). And these pictures prove that all Texas isn't dry and dusty, even in August. If you are interested go to http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/index.asp - His show is A Walk in the Garden.

Krista :wave2:

PS - there is one picture with him in it - there's a little ::MickeyMo on his shirt.

I'm sorry. Okay - here's what my dad said - Unzip it and then double click the .exe file. Let me know if it doesn't work and I'll have him explain better.

I still can't figure it out, but I'm not a computer literate person so will just wait and see if anyone else can open it and see if they can help me.

Welcome, Krista! :flower3:

I'm glad you decided to come out of lurker mode and join us!! ::yes::

I'm sorry to say that I also had some trouble with the link, although for me it could be my computer, it seems to be in the process of a major meltdown!! It downloaded the file, but then the whole thing froze on me, and now, I can't find it...lol. :o

I would love to see your Dad's pics! Can you post some of your favourites to the thread? If you don't have a site to host them on, you could send them to me, I'd be happy to put them on mine. :)

Kim :)

Thanks, Kim. I'll have my dad e-mail me some of the pictures, and I'll download them to ImageStation and try to post some of them.

I had some trouble with the slideshow, too. What I figured out was to:

Go to the link
Find "A Walk in the Garden"
Double click it
Don't hit "Open", but hit "Save" and save it to the desktop

After it downloaded, a file folder with a zipper on it showed up on my desktop. I right clicked on it which pulled up a list of options, and I clicked "open". That pulled up another list. I right clicked on "A Walk in the Garden", clicked "open", and it opened the slideshow. If you get it to open, you can get out by hitting escape. There is music with it, so you might make sure your speakers aren't turned up full blast.

I don't know if different computers do different things, so this may not work for everyone. I'm sorry for posting something so complicated :(. I didn't realize is was such a hassle.

No need to apologize, Krista!!! As I mentioned, my computer is slowly but surely falling apart, so anything even remotely complicated goes right over it's hard drive! ;) :)
