We will be staying at the fort in September and would like to go to the food court at POR one day for lunch. What would be the best way to get there? Thank you!:goodvibes

Drive or take a taxi is the fastest and easiest. If you must rely on Disney transportation then you'll have to take a bus to a park (preferably Epcot which is nearest) and then catch the bus to POR from there.

The fastest would be to take a to a theme park which everone comes first. Then transfer their to por bus then the same back. Or you could take the bus to dtd then transfer to a boat from dtd to por. But you have to wait till after 2 before they start dtd bus service from resort then yu have to take a bus to dhs then transfer to dtd which t would just be easier to take the bus from the theme park direct.

Do the busses from FW to DTD only start after 2pm? We were planning on going there for an early lunch and some shopping on our down day. I didn't realize POR would be so difficult to get to. I might have to re-think this one.

I'm pretty sure the buses from FW to DTD start the same time as they would start at any other resort(somewhere between 9 and 10:confused3). Unfortunately FW to POR is just not easy using Disney transport, you could walk faster, if walking was advisable. The taxi cost would likely be minimal, the actually distance is probably less than 3 miles.

I would probably take the boat to MK, and the bus from there to POR. The boat is not speedy, but it's a very pleasant ride, and should be pretty empty at lunch time.

The bus from MK to POR is pretty quick, maybe 10 minutes (but it may circle the resort before arriving at the South Depot, which is closest to the Sassagoula Float Works.)

On the way back, you might want to take the boat from POR to DTD (which is an even nicer ride, IMHO), and transfer there.

For reference, buses to DTD from the resorts start at about 8:30 a.m. Full service from DTD to the resorts starts about 11 a.m.; before then, buses run to the nearby resorts, and are dispatched to other resorts as needed (which can take a while.)

The bus to DTD then the ferry to POR (We might do this in reverse to go to the trail's end and/or movie night from POR to FW)

This doesn't sound too bad. I heard there is a good pasta bar at the food court here, and thought we might try it for dinner on our AK day, after an afternoon break. We'll have all night. I just printed out the directions to take them with me. Thank you!
