We are going to be staying in the Fort Wilderness Cabins 10/16-10/23 and I have a question about something. I was wondering if they allow people to use crockpots there. I am psyched about being able to cook a home cooked meal while on our trip and I thought I bring my crockpot and cook a few meal in it, that is if it is allowed. Thanks for the help

Certainly! Bring your crocpot and enjoy. FTW is our favorite of all the WDW resorts.

You know the more I find out about Ft. Wilderness Resort the happier I am that I made our reservation there. I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive, because we have only stayed at the Value Resorts previously, and Ft. Wilderness was a good bit more than we wanted to pay. However, this trip will be 7+ days and our only complaint on our last trip (4days) was not enough room in hotel room, and no home cooked meals, by staying at Ft. Wilderness, I think we will make up for a lot of the money we spend on meals. Do you know if they do anything special there during Halloween??
Thanks
Kim

Good morning from the Delta!

My family will be going to FW cabins in less than two weeks, and we're so excited! My teenagers won't stay anywhere else. This year they're legal to drive the golf carts, so that was a big draw. I also plan on cooking in the cabin for most of the trip, as we would rather come back to the quiet and serenity of the cabin for our meals. It really feels like a world away from the crowds. As a matter of fact, I'm really having fun with the planning for this trip, and I have a thread over on the budget board about my luau plans. I really wanted to go to 'Ohana, but to make a long story short, we'll be having a luau party at the cabins instead. I have bought some cute (somewhat cheesy) decorations, and we're planning to have a ball with it! And yes, I'm definitely taking my crock pot with me. I also bought a Mickey waffle maker and I'm taking that, too. My grandson always travels with us, and he adores these waffles. I think they look just like the ones in the restaurants, and he really doesn't know the difference.

In answer to your Halloween question, I think they have a "haunted hayride" during that time of year. You can find the info at www.allears.net.

Have fun at FW!!:wave2:

Wow!! I just posted my first link successfully!!
