Is there specific Fort Wilderness merchansie (t-shirt, etc.) that you can buy at the campground?

Also, can we buy the refillable mug to take to the other parks if we do not buy the DDP?

There is some very limited clothing available. The mugs are only good at the Resorts, not in the parks and according to the rules, your only supposed to use your mug at the Resort where you bought it. (It is available without the DDP)

Over the past year they phased out most of the FW resort-specific merchandise. On our last trip they only had a handful of Fort merchandise available. I complained (in an oh so friendly way) to a CM at the trading post, and they aren't happy about it either.

As far as mugs, they used to be resort specific but no longer are. So, if you buy one at the Fort it looks exactly like one you would buy at any other resort. So if you like to resort hop and carry your mug with you, you could theoretically fill it at any resort. Not that I would ever do that. I'm just sayin....

BUT, when we bought a mug back in December at Trail's End, the nice CM specifically told me what we could get it filled with at TE, at the Meadows Snack Bar, and at Roaring Forks at the WL. Which happens to be a different resort. So, I take that as personal permission to fill it anywhere I want!

That's very nice to know. Thanks for the info.

So I can take to the parks and get refilled without paying?

No, not in the parks. The refillable mugs work at the resorts only. Disney doesn't currently offer a refillable mug for the parks. Closest is the souvenir mug at AK that gets you discounted refills (but not free) and it's only good at AK.

You cannot get FREE refills using your mug in the parks, but they still come in handy there. You can get FREE ice water at refreshment stands, and if you buy a drink, you can dump in into your nice mug instead of drinking it out of the paper cup.:thumbsup2 The only hassle is carrying it around all day. We got a big clip and just attached the mug to our pack or whatever and carried it that way.

Disney no longer has resort specific merchansie I got a Disney 71 sweetshirt last week and the tag said Disney World and Disney Land on it. Now most of the stuff says Disney parks. We got mugs and use them at every resort we eat at they are all the same now

The last I knew someone had an email campaign going on to let Disney know we want the resort merchandise brought back. Maybe some one could post a link to refresh the campaign.

I made sure to mention that I wear my no longer available Fort Wilderness t-shirt camping all over the country on my post trip survey (got the postcard in the mail). I mentioned LOTS of people ask me about Fort Wilderness when I wear it.

Sure Disney is all about $$$, but they do spend a lot on advertising. Selling me a Fort Wilderness t-shirt was cheap advertising.

I'd certainly join this campaign :cheer2:

Can I use my refillable mug at Universal and Sea World?

Absolutely,,also at Lion Safari and Gatorland,
as long as they dont catch you.
But be careful try'n to refill at Weeki Wachee,
they'll swat you with fly swatters if they catch you.

After Disney, you can drive down to visit me, and I'll refill your refillable mugs! Ooh - maybe I can make Kungaloosh!! :cool1:

I also complained to a CM at the Meadows TP. The CM gave me a buisness card & told me to call & complain beause they were not happy either. If anyone is interested I can post the card & we can all call & drive them nuts . I ended up buying a bunch of stuff because I figured it was my last chance.

Well !! What are you wait'n for ? popcorn::
Post that sucker, :thumbsup2

Yes please !!!!!!
Name and email addie would be great.

After 35 years of FW living I expect certain things !!!!!!

I, along with my DW went to FW this past weekend (2/18-2/21) and I had on my FW polo shirt and the CM working in one of the trading post told me they were doing away with all FW merchandise and that I was lucky to have that shirt, so we purchased some of the last FW items and they were marked up to 70% off, we did not know it at the time or I would have gotten the last tire cover, but oh well.... Anyways, the CM gave me this card with the email who to contact for complaints, so here it is:

wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

Lets all write and let the know, as I had many asking where they could buy a shirt like mine.... I might start another thread to bring attention and get the email out.

Do the refillable mugs look the same this year as last year????

We checked yesterday at the Meadows Pool and it is the same red cup as last year.

Sadly, the FW specific items have been eliminated down to 1 small table of items at the Meadows. We went to the outlet mall, hoping to find some FW items. There was nothing.
