Forgive me if this has already been discussed - I'm on a slow connection and got frustrating with searching. Anyway, when I was picking up the pooches at the kennel the other day, one of the workers mentioned that next summer there will be a new Best Friends kennel opening on Bonnet Creek Parkway and the existing Disney kennels will all close. She was all excited about it because the new kennel is going to be state of the art and more like the other Best Friends kennels. I wasn't as impressed because it sounds much less convenient for me. Does anyone know anything about this? Thoughts?

Let's see - when I boarded Mickey at the kennel in Oct 2008 I was told the new kennel would be open by the end of the year. 2008 came and went and no new kennel. The rumor this year was the new kennel would be open the fall of 2009. Now we are hearing 2010 and yet they have not even broken ground yet, at least they hadn't when I was there last month. I am thinking the Disney operation was not as lucrative for Best Friends as they had hoped, and now they are dragging their feet about the new kennel. If it is ever built, I am thinking it will be more expensive and much less convenient. I truly doubt people will be willing to pay significantly more to board their pet for the advantage of television and story time.
