Fort Wilderness DVC cabin availability

My waitlist came through for a 6 night August stay. Very much looking forward to staying in these beautiful cabins (unpopular opinion). Don't see a need for a golf cart as I love to walk, despite the heat, and will have a rental car for trips to EP, DHS and AK. Looking forward to having all breakfasts and most lunches / dinners prepared in the kitchen / on the grill. Member services confirmed free laundry credits, so happy with that...

This is quite unrelated to this thread, but I hear "cabins" and I immediately thought this was Copper Creek Cabins, and I was really surprised that availability was limited at 7 months.

They really need to differentiate these names since they're completely different categories.

Do you know how many people out there call it the Ft. Wildnerness lodge on the cash side? LOL

Well window opened today for me to try to book my 1/24/25 trip - I wanted 4 nights, but only 3 were available. Fri Jan 24 was not available - the one day I need to book it! I'll have to try again tomorrow to see if I can book 1/25/25 to 1/29/25, going Sat - Wed instead of my usual Fri - Tues. If not, then I'll need to wait until July 1 to try for the following weekend Jan 31 - Feb 4. If those don't work, waitlist will be the only other option.
