If there's a thread on this already, please feel free to direct me there. :goodvibes

I'm looking for the best way to see the decorations at the campsites.

Are they best seen during the day or at night?

I understand we cannot drive around.

How long would it take to walk around? Would it be possible to take the busses from loop to loop and just walk within the loops?

How about a golf cart? Can they be rented hourly (or for a few hours)? Cost? Where are they rented and how many people do they hold?

Thank you!!!!

You can rent a golf cart for one day, definitely do it after dark.

It's not a real expensive thing to do, compared to a sleigh ride. The sleigh ride usually only takes you around 1 or 2 loops, but with the golf cart, you can see it all. And believe me, it is SO worth it.

You have to pick up the cart at the front, near the check-in area. When you're done, there's a drop box for the key if it's after hours. The rental period is 24 hours, so it starts when you pick it up. If you drive, that's where the parking lot is. It's also where the bus stop is from the parks and DTD.

It will cost you around $60. They hold 4 (5 if you have small one). There's no seat belts, though, so you'll need to supervise kids in the back seat.

You can make a good day of it with the cart. Get there early, eat at Trail's End, then start your tour of the loops. Get to the campfire at the Meadows to see Chip and Dale in their Christmas hats and scarves, sing a few songs, even make s'mores if you bring supplies or you can buy a kit there. Grab some hot chocolate, hop back on the cart and see more loops. Then end of up at the beach, watch Wisehs from the beach (they pipe in the music) and see the Water Electrical Pageant.

You can get a good 6-7 hours out of that golf cart and enjoy a really nice, festive time at the Fort.

Thank you so much!

I see it says it can hold up to 4 adults... how about 2 adults, 2 thin teens, and a 12yo?

Also, if DH doesn't want to spend the money for a cart, is it walkable?

Hi. I think it would be tight but it would work. It's definitely walkable it will take a long time, though. We saw folks last year walking around. I don't think they looked at everything, but they looked at a few loops.

If you're planning to walk you could take the boat from MK to FW and walk around the loops near the marina and Settlement Trading Post area then walk or take a bus to the Meadows Trading Post where the campfire is. I think Fort Wilderness is too big to walk the loops from end to end. Not sure I'd walk to the Meadows area from the marina either! I like the cart idea, you might want to reserve one. We've never rented a cart for the day during a holiday period but often do on summer vacations. Check about the drop off location, I remember it being by the entrance to the resort last time we rented a cart...it may have changed. We've done the sleigh ride Christmas time it was very nice once we found the location to meet the sleigh! Oh, and I guess you could use a bus to see the decorations but it won't be as nice as walking, driving/riding a cart or the sleigh ride. Have fun :santa:

Thanks everyone!

One last question - which loops are not to be missed?

My favorite area is the Settlement Depot area.:)

As a Poster mentioned,I usually just take the boat over from Magic Kingdom and walk that area.

Also,if you decide on a Cart,DEFINITELY call ahead and reserve one just to be safe.407-824-2742:)

Here are some shots from the area that I walk.:)

So funny - this one was DD's fave last year. She still talks about the Little Mickey with the Present (it's in the front here).

At night, there's lights EVERYWHERE on that site. Did you see the rope lights all on the ground? When that's all lit, it's amazing!

Plus, you realize you had no idea how many different Disney theme blowups that exist! I'm sure some of them are pretty old at this point.

Thank you, thank you, thank you... a million thank yous! :grouphug:

We're heading out shortly!! :cool1:
