Has anyone ever done the Fort Wilderness Horse Drawn Carriage? Just wondering if it's worth the money? I see it's $30 for 1/2 hour which to me is not overly priced. It will be me, DH, DD10 & DD4. It's suggested to make reservations. Has anyone had a problem with just showing up? TIA

We did the carriage ride last year (see pic in my sig ling). It was part of the Romance Plan we added to our reservation.

I thought it was fun. The sun was just setting when we left and we got a split of champagne to split.

The driver was very nice. He didn't really talk too much. We mostly enjoyed the scenery. It was quite relaxing.

I know that right before we left for our ride there was a couple who were inquiring about taking a ride. I beleive the guy told him he could squeeze them in after us. (I think that would have been around 8 or 8:30). It was July 4th.

I don't know that I would pay for a carriage ride. I don't like a lot of attention...but the driver pretty much left us to ourselves. It was an experience and if you like that sort of thing, I would recommend it.
