Hey I am 20 years old turning 21 when I am there and if we rent a golf cart my family who has a driving license. Will I get into trouble if I am old enough to drive and not have a driving license to drive the golf cart?

So as the sign says and to answer your question directly, you must have a full driver's license. You cannot drive a golf cart even if you have a learner's permit. Hope this helps.

While you are at the Fort, you will be as amazed as I am at the number of 8-15 year olds that have a "full driver's license".

I was going to say that if he wants to take a chance and not be noticed or caught, that's his family's choice, but the consequences if he is caught ....... ??

Unless he does something stupid, at that age, he won't even be questioned. However he is still violating the policy.

I wasn't going to say it. But then again if I was atually 20 I wouldn't even ask. So, either we have the best , most behaved 20 year old on the planet. Or someone a bit younger in age. Who knows. Have fun driving the cart! :D

A little off topic here. Has anyone ever rented a cart off property?? The Disney carts are sold out for our stay. Wondering what companies are close that you can rent one from?

Almost every trip. TeeTime Rentals ( Kenny Cart). Almost half the price of the Fort.

I'll PM you the phone number. Kristen is great.

And keep in mind that if you do a search on the Camping Board for alternative golf cart vendors, you may get a few different names and NOBODY has a 100% satisfaction rating.

Also be aware that there may be some extra legwork required to enjoy the benefits of an off-site golf cart.

I've rarely rented a golf cart (and it's been an off-site vendor) and both times I used the vendor mentioned above. But everyone's experience is their own which is as it should be.

As to the underage "FULLY LICENSED" drivers I bet mom and dad will be equally amazed at just how good their insurance and accountability is. Same for the ADULT unlicensed d operator

We’re about to call to rent our golf cart for may but now I’m wondering if we should rent from an offsite vendor. What do you mean by there might be extra leg work?

Ah okay that won’t work for us then. We’d have no way to get it to the fort
I think it's Kenny's but not sure will loan you their truck and trailer to get the cart to the Fort. Also, if the cart is already there and turned in you might be able to pick it up where the previous renter dropped it off. The cart vendor would be able to tell you where to pick it up.

We went ahead and got it from Disney. We’ll only be there 3 nights and have a toddler so picking it up right there will be a lot easier for us

I've rented from the Fort several times. It was expensive but I chalked it up to the cost of living there. The last time we went I borrowed a trailer from a neighbor and just brought our own golf cart.

We stayed last May and rented from the fort then too. It’s just easier with a toddler

3 days is my threshold for a Fort cart vs a Kenny cart. The money saved for only 3 days isn't worth the hassle of picking up and dropping off off-site. Anything longer, Kenny it is.

We live an hour away so the longest we usually stay is 3 nights. That’s kind of why we thought renting from Disney would be the easiest
