Just curious if you think its worth the time to go to the Movie with Chip and Dale.. to roast marshmellows etc.. I thought we would go just to visit with Chip and Dale and roast some marsh.. Did anyone enjoy this? We are staying at WL.. is it easy to get too from here?

Yes, it is easy to get to - and I do think it's worth it. Maybe after roasting marshmallows, you can take a wagon ride at the Settlement, that is also a favorite thing for me to do at FW!

You can walk to FW in about 20 minutes from the WL. You can also get a bus, or a boat. (I'd not walk after dark). That takes you to the Settlement, which is a short bus ride (or about an 8 - 10 minute walk) from the Meadows, which is where the campfire is.

My FW photos are on page 2 now, but I show the walk between FW and the WL, as well as to the meadows. Again, you may end up taking a bus or boat - but either way, it's not too far. http://www.denisesfitnessblog.com/disney/?pg=2

The Smore kits aren't cheap at Disney - the sticks are at least, but I brought my own marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers last time. :) But it may be easier for you just to buy it there.

I love it. It is one of my favorite things to do at Disney. :cool1:

I havent done it yet....it's on the list...

FW is very easy to get to from WL...take the boat....

The campfire is near middle of place.....probably a 5min walk...
or i think they run buses that go around resort...

We do this every year, but have yet stayed to see the movie. By the time the movie comes around, my kids are getting antsy and we head back on over to Wilderness Lodge. But even without seeing the movie they have a great time. We do the sing-a-long, see Chip and Dale, roast marshmallows and make s'mores, have some popcorn, etc. It's very easy to get to from WL. We always take the boat over and then take the internal bus at FW.:)

Wow.. thanks for the replies.. I think we are going to do that...I just want to make it back for the water parade..

FW gets the water parade too. Be on the beach at 9:45 with everyone else!

That is the thing we go over to FW for each trip the kids love to go to the movie and make smores that is our reason for heading over to the Fort other than that I do not go to the place LOL. We make a day of it and walk the swamp trail it was mch better when the boardwalk was actually open in the swamp then we rent a canoe or peddle boats and hang out and watch the movie.

The last time we were there my son did not miss one campfire in the whole 8 days we were there he loved it. It was the first thing he asked about when we started planning this year.
