Fort Wilderness Availibility

Just curious if anyone has used their DVC points to stay at a RV site at FW. The points per night seem pretty reasonable. I called couple of months ago about some dates at the booking window but nothing was available. Member services said there is very little Availibility for sites at FW. I'd like to take my camper there someday.

Hi DisneyinPA. I can tell you right now that your chances are slim to none of getting a campsite there. I talked to a super nice couple that had a big motorhome when they bought DVC several years back. They had called right at the opening bell 11 months out, at all sorts of times of the year for various stays, etc., and were extremely disappointed that they had not once been able to book FTW campsite with their DVC points. They had bought DVC to a large part to use for their RV. Kind of sad really. My understanding is that there are only a very, very small handful of sites allotted to DVC, like EXTREMELY small.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I would be shocked if you were able to snag a campsite on points….

IMO it's another DVD marketing ploy. Advertise that you can use your points there but in reality they only allow you to do so when they can't find guests to book with cash.

It's like the DCL DVC blackout that occurred a few years ago. Disney had plenty of demand for cash bookings so they blacked out DVC booking for almost a year.

We have been successful acquiring campsites at FW, but it has been several years since we've done so. We did it on 2 different occasions. If memory serves me correctly, there was some weird thing where the sites weren't available at the 11 month or 7 month window, but 6 months rings a bell. I also remember the lady on the phone saying that they only have 4 sites at any time available for DVC ...... At least at that time (2005 ish). Also, remember to ask if there are ANY of your dates available via DVC, as their canned response seems to be "No" if not all of your requested days are available. You may have to do a split reservation. I know it's been a while, but maybe this will give you hope. Just keep trying.
